COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppy Girl is an India Pale Ale infused with hibiscus and jasmine. For the Artisan Ale Project, Twisted Pine developed twelve distinct new beers and then enlisted the help of a dozen talented Colorado artists for artwork to adorn the labels. On the first Saturday of every month in 2012, the brewery will introduce a small batch of one of the ales at a special release-party which will double as an art show for that month’s featured artist. The Artisan ales will come in sleek, black 750ml glass bottles and will mark the brewery’s first foray into that size packaging. Quantities will be limited, especially for the barrel-aged beers in the series. Distribution of the bottles will be restricted to Colorado accounts and the Twisted Pine ale house will have each new beer on tap for as long as supplies last. Twisted Pine is proud to be part of a very artistic community in Colorado and excited to release a product that supports and celebrates the arts and the art of crafting a fine beer.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle at Art and Ale festival, hazy orange pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, biscuit and spice notes, some nice pine and grass notes, slight grapefruit and bitter lemon peel. Taste is pretty decent, some biscuit, bready notes with a hint of pine, orange, toffee, slight grass. Pretty decent, but not bold enough.

750 ml. Bottle. Pours a medium light beige head with extensive lacing, over a clear dark amber (SRM 15) body........nose is heavy treacle, light floral....taste is toffee/caramel, light floral tones, finishing with a light bitterness......mouth feel medium, alcohol adds light heat, carbonation low. This is a surprisingly simple beer given the forces used. It does not taste bad, but there is minimal depth of complexity to it. The floral additions are almost completely absent, which may be just a function of time. Ah well, not every experiment is successful. BJCP 7/3/12/4/6

Bottle @ Dan’s house, picked up at Supermarket Foco. Pours a dark reddish orange appearance with a cream colored head. Dark fruity, grapefruity, caramel, toasty malty, herbal aroma. Chewy, caramel, chewy malty, somewhat boozy, herbal, grassy, dull flavor. Maybe a touch old and somewhat decent.

Bottle at dans, courtesy of Aaron. Thanks Man! Poured a deep amber with a fluffy white head and decent lacing. Definitely get the hibiscus, also picking up slight grass, notes of vanilla, some raisins, floral hops, and caramel. Taste is caramel, vanilla, oak, grapefruit, citrus, and light alcohol with a light bitter finish. Sticky mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Really smooth and easy to drink, almost like a "mini barleywine."

Clear dark rusty golden with a thin white head with a very complex nose of wildflower honey, fresh cut flowers, fruity notes like cranberry, and a touch of citrus rind. Taste is nicely balanced with honey sweetness with some floral hops AND floral sweetness, with some hibiscus tones, some citrus notes, with a good amount of honey and toffee sweetness.
