Dark black pour with a reddish-brown head and good lacing. Aroma is roasted coffee with a little spice and earth. Flavors follow the aroma, with some chocolate a nice bitter finish.

Large Format - For a coffee stout the coffee aroma is very mild, I smell more of an alcohol essence. Color is a rich dark brown with lots of sediment floating around the glass. Taste wise I don’t get the roasted coffee or any other typical roasted malt flavors I would expect. No chocolate either. Taste is very similar to the smell, more alcohol than anything else. Not well refined or balanced.

Pour. Black. No head. Coffee aroma. Green coffe taste. Bitter. Malty. Roasts. Good.

There are some beers I like more in hindsight than I do at the time. Twisted Pine’s Big Shot is one of those. I drained it pretty quickly and was somewhat unimpressed with the flavors of espresso and chocolate. Looking back, I do think the richness is good for a Stout with 6% ABV, but I’d still prefer something more bold. While the mouthfeel is smooth, I want more creaminess. In all, Big Shot has no glaring flaws. In fact, I have trouble thinking of anything truly wrong with it. It’s damn drinkable and has decent flavors. Still, nothing really made it stand out for me.

Bottle. A- Espresso, coffee, mocha, chocolate. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Coffee, espresso, mocha, milk chocolate, slightly roasty. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- The aroma on this is robust and out of this world. Like a straight cup of java with a nice chocolate sweetness to it. The taste is about the same but not as much flavor. A little on the blander side. Still an excellent brew for the price and a great one for the coffee lovers.

Poured from 22 oz. bottle. Opaque, brown-black with a 1-finger brown head and good lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, roasted malt and sweet licorice. Taste of espresso, semi-sweet dark chocolate, licorice and roasted malt. Medium/light body and medium/low carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very espresso stout. About as coffee is palatable in a beer. Rich as dark. Thick beige head and a dark character. Ends on the thin side.

Coffee notes on the aroma. Appearance is jet black with a thin tan head with poor retention. Coffee dominates the flavor, but it added an odd flavor that lingers on the finish. The malt flavor is one note and its oxidized. Mouthfeel is thin with medium low carbonation. There is also a harsh astringency on the end. Overall, it's a poorly made beer. Either the type of coffee added and/or the technique used to add it needs to be modified. The beer also lacks complexity and oxidized. Doesn't taste good at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a bomber bottle, pours black with a thin tan head but lovely lacing. Full aroma of espresso, some bitterness, roasted malts. Taste is largely espresso, bittering coffee beans, but enough roasted malt to keep it a beer. Smooth with a hint of bittering hops at the end. Pretty good one here.

this does for stout what Coffee Bender did for brown...for those who like a little beer with their coffee. I’m sure there was stout underneath somewhere, but it was hard to tell. awesome (if you like espresso) aroma of stright up iced espresso. bittersweet and smooth. would be awesome for/with breakfast."
