COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This light-bodied ale has an amazing chili aroma that jumps out at you. We infuse this beer with fresh Serrano, Habenero, Jalapeno, Anaheim, and Fresno chili peppers. Surprisingly, the chili flavor is strong but not overpowering and comes through without lending too much heat. Billyís Chilies is a very drinkable beer and pairs perfectly with chicken, steak and especially tacos. It finishes dry with a spiciness that will leave you thirsty for more.

Wow. What an amazing beer! First, the beer greets you in the nose with a wonderful pepper aroma. Correction, slaps you in the face with a SPICY peppery aroma. And, this is coming from a slightly cloudy pale beer. The beer enters the mouth smooth, with a bit of pepper - not as much as the aroma would let on and leaves the throat with a bit of heat. This is truley a beer for hot pepper fans. There isnít malt or hops for these peppers to hide behind! If you donít like peppers or donít think that peppers have any place in beer, there is some simple advice a sage friend of mine said: donít buy a pepper beer and expect it to taste like something other then peppers. The peppers in this beer come through amazingly well!

Unique but pretty "unbeer" like. The pepper flavor really stands out in the aroma & certainly in the taste! It kind of burns going down & leaves a pretty strong aftertaste. I appreciate the originality here!

Holy hell this beer is a piece of crap. It smells like Tobasco sauce and cardboard and is full of gross yeast chunks and garbage. It tastes better than it smells but that is a different things than it tasting good. Itís not too hot and some slight sweetness brings out the fruitiness of the peppers. There chili pepper beers now that take the idea beyond a novelty these days so I just canít see the need for something that tastes like a bland blond ale with peepers added wily nilly.

Sample at Kurtkeller 018: Tequila-aged and Letís Agree to Ruin Our Evening with Pepper beers-tastic 01 on 11/04/2014. Hazy golden color with a medium foamy white head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing. Chili peppers and malt in the nose. Light to medium body with a fairly strong jalapeno character and some biscuit malt behind it. The finish is spicy with a peppery aftertaste. Middling one-note beer overall.

Whereís a murky golden color with vegetable matter floating throughout. A short white head forms and retains fairly well. Hey huge fresh chili nose is noted. Medium bodied with sufficient burn on the back of the throat from the chilies. A bit of butter in the flavor but dominated by fresh chilies. My wife said I should have saved it for the chili weíre having tomorrow night.

Bottle. Yellow brown with a huge off white head and floating particles. Fresh jalapenos, vegetal, wheat and more peppers. Flavor has an initial green stemmy flavor and then opens straight up to peppery heat. This is reminiscent of their ghost face killah in that it is very spicy to the point that you almost want another beverage just to wash it down.

12 oz bottle. (Bruisin Ales) Asheville, NC.
Hazy golden colour with a bubbling white head which disappears very quickly. Chilies... chilies and... chilies in the aroma. Actually thereís some toffee sweetness behind the chili aroma. The flavour is first beer and then just burning chili... it burns.

Abundance of chilies. Not hot, but very peppery. Too much pepper by itself, this really needs to be eaten with chili. Wee done for a gimmick.

"huge pepper aroma hits you as soon as the top is popped. looks like a cloudyish macro lager. the taste is ok at first...lots of chilies but the beer underneath never makes an appearance, and it isnít very spicy, but burns the throat on the way down. cool as a novelty and smells great if you like peppers, but the drinkability is super low. glad i shared the bottle. cool concept that needs to be toned down a bit."

(bottle - 12 oz) Cloudy gold with a thin white head. Raw pepper juice in the aroma with not much else. Hot and spicy pepper juice in the flavor. Couldnít taste any actual beer. Not my thing.

Poured from tap to glass. Slightly hazy straw hue with white head. Aroma is huge chilis, jalapeŮos, seranos, straw. Mouthfeel is nice with a light body and good carbonation. Taste is dry throughout with a spiciness throughout the finish and lingering in the back of my throat. Overall this is a great chili beer with a log of depth!
