COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This light-bodied ale has an amazing chili aroma that jumps out at you. We infuse this beer with fresh Serrano, Habenero, Jalapeno, Anaheim, and Fresno chili peppers. Surprisingly, the chili flavor is strong but not overpowering and comes through without lending too much heat. Billy’s Chilies is a very drinkable beer and pairs perfectly with chicken, steak and especially tacos. It finishes dry with a spiciness that will leave you thirsty for more.

Man do I hate chili beers. Don’t know why I even gave this a chance. Tastes just like a jalapeno pepper; has a late spiciness. This is not a flavor I like in beers and I will never seek it again. I don’t know how people like these kind of beers..........

Sample at Kurtkeller 018: Tequila-aged and Let’s Agree to Ruin Our Evening with Pepper beers-tastic 01 on 11/04/2014. Hazy golden color with a medium foamy white head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing. Chili peppers and malt in the nose. Light to medium body with a fairly strong jalapeno character and some biscuit malt behind it. The finish is spicy with a peppery aftertaste. Middling one-note beer overall.

Where’s a murky golden color with vegetable matter floating throughout. A short white head forms and retains fairly well. Hey huge fresh chili nose is noted. Medium bodied with sufficient burn on the back of the throat from the chilies. A bit of butter in the flavor but dominated by fresh chilies. My wife said I should have saved it for the chili we’re having tomorrow night.

Bottle. Yellow brown with a huge off white head and floating particles. Fresh jalapenos, vegetal, wheat and more peppers. Flavor has an initial green stemmy flavor and then opens straight up to peppery heat. This is reminiscent of their ghost face killah in that it is very spicy to the point that you almost want another beverage just to wash it down.

12 oz bottle. (Bruisin Ales) Asheville, NC.
Hazy golden colour with a bubbling white head which disappears very quickly. Chilies... chilies and... chilies in the aroma. Actually there’s some toffee sweetness behind the chili aroma. The flavour is first beer and then just burning chili... it burns.

Abundance of chilies. Not hot, but very peppery. Too much pepper by itself, this really needs to be eaten with chili. Wee done for a gimmick.

"huge pepper aroma hits you as soon as the top is popped. looks like a cloudyish macro lager. the taste is ok at first...lots of chilies but the beer underneath never makes an appearance, and it isn’t very spicy, but burns the throat on the way down. cool as a novelty and smells great if you like peppers, but the drinkability is super low. glad i shared the bottle. cool concept that needs to be toned down a bit."

(bottle - 12 oz) Cloudy gold with a thin white head. Raw pepper juice in the aroma with not much else. Hot and spicy pepper juice in the flavor. Couldn’t taste any actual beer. Not my thing.

Poured from tap to glass. Slightly hazy straw hue with white head. Aroma is huge chilis, jalapeños, seranos, straw. Mouthfeel is nice with a light body and good carbonation. Taste is dry throughout with a spiciness throughout the finish and lingering in the back of my throat. Overall this is a great chili beer with a log of depth!

Damnit. Why am I doing this. From the first ounce out of the bottle I know I am not going to enjoy this. Nose is all peppers, but there is a depth of pepper variety. Taste is, well, close to vomit in my opinion. Not quite vomit, but close. All peppers, with an extremely bad beer base. Two sips and the rest is bye bye.

12oz bottle into the "hot" snifter from some other place besides DLD 2013 - Nose is spicy peppers. Heads goes away quickly. Heat kicks in but yes is not overpowering. A sipper of a beer. Heat does not stick.
