2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle shared towards the end of the night at Campground Brewdown. Poured a gold body with a smaller bubbly white head. Aroma is pure pepper, green pepper, crushed red pepper and some ground black pepper. Medium body with average carbonation and lots and lots of heat. Flavor is the same as the aroma and just dominated by peppers. Meh total gimmick on this one.

1.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Twisted Pine’s “Ghost Face Killah” is not a beer, it is an alcoholic gag gift. A beer would imply it’s drinkable and has elements of malts and hops. This is essentially just carbonated hot sauce. It really has no redeeming qualities since it’s extremely difficult to drink more than an ounce of it because it is so ridiculously hot.
I poured a 12oz bottle into a shaker glass. There was no freshness date and it cost $3.99 ($0.33 per ounce).
Appearance: Ugly carrot-orange color over a hazy/cloudy body (I can see some carbonation, though). Pours to a miniscule, orange, soapy head which fizzles away immediately.
Smell: Extremely pungent pepper aroma, not unlike hot sauce. Slightly smokey. No “beer” smell at all.
Taste: I’m no stranger to peppers. I’ve grown my own jalapenos, habaneros and Trinidad Scorpion peppers and eaten them raw. I’ve even brewed with these peppers and was able to use them to impart gentle warmth. Twisted Pine’s “Ghost Face Killah” is most definitely not gentle, nor is it warm. In fact, “hot” doesn’t really describe it. As soon as it touches the tongue and lips the body parts are on fire. It has the taste of raw peppers as it goes down – a nasty earthy/soil-like flavor. After a while, there’s a slight smokey aftertaste, not unlike that of a Chipotle pepper, but by that point it’s too late. I can’t imagine anyone other than a pepper enthusiast being able to get through more than 4oz of this. There’s nothing to taste, it’s just liquid fire.
Drinkability: Quite simply, this is undrinkable. It’s just too intense and the capsaicin lingers in the mouth for quite a while afterwards. It upset my stomach a bit, too.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer is stupid. It smells like vegetables and maybe some smoke. It’s one note, hot and peppery. Would be good mixed with tomato juice but on its own it’s a bit much. Still worth trying as a curiosity and is devoid of any of notes so nota total loss.

12oz bottle poured into glass -- Well, this beer happened. I first had it as a home brew, someone decided it was a good idea as a mass produced beer. I argue, "why? " Uncomfortably hot, nothing favorable. I tried to enjoy this brew. Pretty sure I?m about to go shit lava now.
... I have come to the point that I don’t even want to drink this beer, I’m looking at and avoiding it.

Bottle. Pours golden yellow with no head. Aroma was a hot blend of chili peppers. Flavor was hot & spicy with pale malts, chili peppers with a long lingering burning finish. Strictly a novelty beer.

I love hot food, but this beer is undrinkable. Way too much heat. This is a gimmick beer. Don't buy, I took one sip and dumped it.

Sample at Kurtkeller 018: Tequila-aged and Let’s Agree to Ruin Our Evening with Pepper beers-tastic 01 on 11/04/2014. Clear bright orange-gold color with a minimal white head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing. The aroma is all peppers. Light-bodied with flavors of searingly hot peppers with a touch of pale malt behind it. The finish is hot with a lingering hot pepper aftertaste. Not as day-ruiningly hot as Elevator Ghost Scorpion, but unapproachable and difficult to drink,so scored accordingly.

Bottle from Craft. Really just pepper. Nothing else to say. Burns going in and coming out. I needed the rating, interesting concept, but I wouldn’t get it again.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer & Beyond, Tel Aviv. Clear light yellow with quickly diminishing small white head. Very hot aroma, chili, pickles, some olives. Very very very hot flavor, pickles, very light sweetness. Light carbonation, probably light-bodied. It feels hot in lips, the tongue, the throat, all the way to the stomach, and it’s long lasting...
