COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppy Boy India Pale Ale is the flagship beer of Twisted Pine. It has a rocky white head, hazy pale orange color, and hoppy citrus aroma. It has a dry, tart taste with an earthy bitterness. Cascade hops provide pleasant grapefruit and citrus notes. This classic American IPA is brewed with medium caramel malts that play off the citrus and orange rind hop flavors to make this beer most enjoyable.

Bottle. Mostly clear dirty orange pour with a small white head. Stale grassy hop nose, maybe a touch of citrus. Taste borders on the bland side, but not too bad. Kind of a whatever beer.

Smell is light hop. Nice Orange appearance. It comes off thin, with a bitter hop taste somewhere in the back That rinses away. Light mouth feel. Over all nothing too exciting about this one.

Bottle. Pours golden amber with an off white head. Flowery hops, with lighter citric fruity notes, light pale malts, and a hint of coriander. Good stuff.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Virginia Beach, VA. Pours dark orange with a slight off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, mango, and pine. Taste is moderately bitter with notes of pine needles, light toffee, passion fruit, and wet grass. Well balanced. Really decent.

12 ounce bottle poured a light amber color with aromas of pine, lit citrus, and caramel. Flavors follow suit, ok IPA overall, better ones are on the market.

Tall can. Poured a one finger high head. Hazy, orange caramal color. Strong fruit citrus aromas the warmer this got. Was getting grapefruit, melon, orange, pineapple notes. Medium light bitterness. Average carbonation. Taste has more pine flavors with mild citrus hop and slight caramel notes. Pretty good.

Clearish, light amber coloured body with a copper tint and a decent two centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of metal, light hops, earth and a hint of sugars - not too much going on in the nose. Light-bodied; Grassy and floral hop bite at first with hardly any depth and no body - a bit of a metallic and earthy finish, but still no malt at all. Aftertaste, thin and grassy with some lighter hop notes, a bit of sweetness on the end from citrus fruit and very little else - no complexity at all. Overall, a sub-par IPA with no malt backbone, no complexity and only some herbal and grassy hops to speak of. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 02-April-2013 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 20-April-2013.

12 oz bottle purchased at hy vee in sioux city. Very good flavor and not to hoppy for an ipa. Has the required bitterness but not over the top. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
