COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppy Boy India Pale Ale is the flagship beer of Twisted Pine. It has a rocky white head, hazy pale orange color, and hoppy citrus aroma. It has a dry, tart taste with an earthy bitterness. Cascade hops provide pleasant grapefruit and citrus notes. This classic American IPA is brewed with medium caramel malts that play off the citrus and orange rind hop flavors to make this beer most enjoyable.

bottle courtesy of boomer0183. thought this would have a higher score than this! very quaffable, reminds me of a nice saison with some of the hop profile, the mouthfeel and light crispness of this brew. nice clear or hazy pour with a dense creamy head with excellent retention. very clean in the back palate, i wouldn’t mind more of this at all.

Not sure why this beer isn’t rated higher. Very close to a Racer 5. Clean, crisp, piney, and fairly hoppy. I can’t stand the malt bomb IPA’s and this is not one of those. Overall pretty nice.

Bottle courtesy of ericandersnavy. Pours a hazy bright caramel orange color with massive two finger foamy head that settles quickly but laces the glass. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of caramel, grapefruit, honey, citrus, floral hops, light pine, some floral esters. Flavor is sweet and floral with notes of floral hops, grapefruit, pine, fresh ripe fruit, honey, caramel, light floral esters. Medium body with a floral hop finish.

The Dan Journal #306. Tasted 9/27/09. 12oz bottle. Hazy and sedimented. Soapy and citrus aromas. All hops. Medium bodied with toasty malts and a huge, bright bitterness. Very dry finish. Lotta sediment in the later half. Tasty, but not overly complex.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Real fresh grapefruit, floral aroma that lit up the nose. Copper body with decent head. If the flavor would have been like the aroma, this beer could have been a "5". But the flavor was a decent IPA - citrusy. Cool and crisp on the palate. Good brew. Thanks, Eric, for the opportunity to try this one!

12oz bottle from a variety pack. Amber with a thin off white head. With plenty of good IPAs on the market, this one will be easy to forget.

Tap at brewery during GABF 2009.
Pours a watery yellow with an aroma and taste of corn flakes. Watery mouthfeel. This beer is liquified corn flakes; perhaps a bad batch?

12 ounce bottle from College Liquors. Pours a bright orange color with a sticky white head. A rich caramel and spicy hop aroma. The flavor is very nice; loads of bitter pine hops, rich caramel. A bitter caramel finish. Nice. Fruity.
