Hoppy Boy India Pale Ale is the flagship beer of Twisted Pine. It has a rocky white head, hazy pale orange color, and hoppy citrus aroma. It has a dry, tart taste with an earthy bitterness. Cascade hops provide pleasant grapefruit and citrus notes. This classic American IPA is brewed with medium caramel malts that play off the citrus and orange rind hop flavors to make this beer most enjoyable.

Bottle from Total Wine in Jensen Beach. Pours a lively orange with a white head leaving nice lacing. Aroma has pineapple and ... sour fruit (seldom a good sign as it seems to be dead hops) and pineapple, and maybe pine. Taste is of sweet light fruit, sour fruits, some toffee malts. And pine too, I guess. Shrug? Light to medium bodied. Finishes sweet and light. Nothing to recommend here, move on.

Not good. This is a mess. A sweet weird mess. No hops to be heard of, this tastes like hot garbage. If this is their flagship beer I weep for their other beers. This is so sweet it’s borderline undrinkable. I rarely meet a beer I can’t drink but this is terrible. Would it kill you to add some hops? This is bad. Can’t do it, I’m about to pour this trash and grab myself a real IPA.

Nice in flavour. Not much in other featurs. It was well brewed but a little not too thick. Enjoyable it was.

(bottle - 12 oz) Copper pour with a white head. Bitter hop and citrus aroma. Flavor is malty at the front which is odd, but moves to a slightly bitter and grassy finish.

Bottle, screw-top. Nose has wooden/piny notes with spicy and rugged caramel, some dull but chewy and earthy toffee, mild grapefruit/Cascade. Golden gradient pour with a dense off-white head. Taste medium bitter, but very smooth and rounded, no brutish or thuggish character at all, but the very full doughy caramel does feel neutered, and there’s not enough carbonation or zinging tartness to compensate. Very mildly tart, fresh, but overall sort of a blanket of depression.
