COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppy Boy India Pale Ale is the flagship beer of Twisted Pine. It has a rocky white head, hazy pale orange color, and hoppy citrus aroma. It has a dry, tart taste with an earthy bitterness. Cascade hops provide pleasant grapefruit and citrus notes. This classic American IPA is brewed with medium caramel malts that play off the citrus and orange rind hop flavors to make this beer most enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is pine, hemp, resin, and citrus. Medium mouthfeel with nice bitter grapefruit, pine, and nice bitter finish, easy to drink, good.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Hazy golden orange color with a decent white head. Citrus nose, with tropical notes, some lime and faint yeast. Juicy fruity hop flavors (citrus peel), light caramel, some marmalade, medium bitterness faint malt. Medium bodied, hoppy, dry enough, not super interesting but cool.

Bottle from mixed 12 pack. A kin to Sweetwater 420 pale ale. Caramel, highly carbonated. Bitterness is there with a little bit of citrus, but not much of anything else pops out. Kind of just liquid. I rated 420 higher due to sentimental value. This is just barely ok

Bottle, 22 oz. It forms a dense fingerthick off-white head over a clear, dark golden body. The initial aroma has lots of citrus peel, but soon pine cones and a malty sweetness kicks in. Itís a tad sweet on the palate, lightly malty, but still the hops win easily. Bitterness, pine cones, resins and a grass touch shows up. Full body, semi-sweet, with a nice carbonation level. Lasting finish with a tad too much sweetness. Some metallic hints too. Overall, sure decent, but too much on the malty side. 140512

Poured from a tall can into a pint glass. The beer had a hazy amber-gold color with an average-sized foamy white head with modest retention, good lacing and cling. Its aroma featured grainy and citrus hops along with some lighter pine and floral notes and a bit of malt. The taste was a bitter blend of grainy and lighter citrus flavors with a slight sour grain effect and bits of lighter fruit and floral tones. It had a medium thickness in the mouth with a dry body and was somewhat on the thin side as it settled with low to average carbonation.

Bottle from Total Wine in Jensen Beach. Pours a lively orange with a white head leaving nice lacing. Aroma has pineapple and ... sour fruit (seldom a good sign as it seems to be dead hops) and pineapple, and maybe pine. Taste is of sweet light fruit, sour fruits, some toffee malts. And pine too, I guess. Shrug? Light to medium bodied. Finishes sweet and light. Nothing to recommend here, move on.

Can. Pours amber with small head. Nose and flavor are piney with a little bit sweetness.
