Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 22, 2008 Draft. A hazy dark red beer with a thick lazing yellowish head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light touch of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also lighter notes of citrus, leading to a dry malty and toffee finish. Ernest (4217), Boulder, Colorado, USA Aug 7, 2002 Updated: Nov 21, 2005Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (apricot), lightly yeasty (dough), with notes of tea and minerals. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A pleasant dark amber ale that reminds me of Carlow O’Hara’s Irish Red. jcwattsrugger (3862), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 4, 2006 on tap-pours a light tan head and hazy copper color. Aroma is medium malt-caramel. Taste is sweet medium malt-caramel, secondary hops with some bite. Good carbonation.
Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Apr 26, 2006 4 oz sampler at the brewery, 4/15/06: Dark and well-haeded. Inviting hoppy aroma. But the flavor is more caramel and smooth. Intriguing. Good session offering and the best I found here. Had a follow-on pint after the samplers. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jul 15, 2006 Nice aroma, like those little caramel candies, and a light bit of melted toffee. Flavor is sweet and malty, nicely balanced, smooth and super easy to drink. A perfect session beer.
