3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 2014 version, ABV knocked way back to 11.9. Pours a medium golden color, slightly cloudy. Aroma is citrus and fruit, nice but a little light for such a big beer. Flavor is surprisingly balanced with the malt and hops. A little resinous. Decent amount of complex, but subtle flavors keep it interesting. Hops make themselves known mostly late in the middle and long into the finish, with the bitterness coming in strong and staying on the palate. This is far smoother than I would have thought, which I like. Pretty easy to drink, but not terribly distinctive given the price. Nice to have tried it. I’ll let the 2013 18 percent ABV versions cellar for at least a few years.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Getting lots of different numbers for the ABV on this - 12/15/18? Anyway, it hit hard. Sweet and malt heavy a bit flat on the hops but they are there on the back end. Solid, but doesn’t offer a lot in terms of how little you can drink before you are blotto.

Draft - Tropical fruit, grass and some yeast. Hazy gold with a decent white head. Fruity esters, booze and some pithy bitterness. Big flavors all around, lingering bitterness and booze.

22, waxed, 2013 release (~15% version). Thanks, D! Pours a hazy dark orange with a dense and creamy whitish head. Big sharp orange and grapefruit nose. Creamy thick body. Toasted caramel and heavy, oily hop mid-palate. Hot, dry vodka finish.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Waxed 11.9% 2014 22oz pours transparent copper with a white almost non-existent head. The aroma is malty and lemon-citrus. The flavor is malty, spicy, and cashewy, and citrusy, but not really amazingly hoppy or malty. The malty sweetness and citrusy spice are well balanced, with a super long bitter hop spice finish that comtains peppermint and a warmth that can only mean the high alcohol has been well masked. The body is active and the finish is slightly dry.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Amber in color clear with a thin head. The hops come off pretty strong but not triple IPA quantity. I was hoping for more hops Pop. This was just not big enough for a triple. The high alcohol is good but the hops do not back up the big malt flavor.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sadly, not one of the good ones of the Alta series, which typically are some of Two Beers’ best. This one is boozy, with high alcohol heat. Indeed, alcohol is the primary flavor. Once you get past that, a lot of resiny hops. Not much bitterness. The flavor is worse than DFH 120, and yet clocks in at <12% ABV on my bottle.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber of 2014 Vintage (11.9%, #609/2000). Orange and gold colored in appearance with a half-inch of suds and foam. Mostly citrus peel, tropical fruit and caramel malt sweetness in the aroma. The flavor starts with a strong dose of mandarin orange, pineapple and resiny hops bitterness along with some pine, malt and mild alcohol burn to round things out. The body is a tad syrupy with low carbonation and more booze and citrus in the finish. Lots of different hops characteristics although it overwhelms the palate at times.
