4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazed coppery orange, white head. Definitely smells like my kind of IPA right off the bat. Lots of floral aromatics and citrus. A little caramel and toasty grain on the body, not too malty and pretty dry overall. Light bodied, lots more of that floral and citrus, grapefruit rind, moderately bitter pine finish. Nice stuff, lots of hop character with just the right level of malt backing.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - Fresh pine and citrus with a candy malt. Cloudy orange with a big beige head. Pine and resin with a nice well balanced bitterness. Finish is dry and resinous. A decent but average IPA.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour is a dark red with a small head. Aroma is of super sweet malt and fresh pine hop. Flavor is malty and sweet at first. Earthy hop flavor follows with more of a syrupy heavy maltyness. Finish is dry and fleeting. Nice start, but lacking in the finish. Average at best IPA. Way too malt heavy and the hops donít overpower that malty sweetness.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a medium burnished amber with golden highlights, a tad bit of haze and a vigilant cream colored head. Aroma is primarily orange citrus, old oranges, grapefruit pith, yet earthy and somewhat herbal and dank, some very subdued piney notes lends itself to the background. Flavors of neutral malt with some medium-light caramel sweetness, good carbonation. Firm bitterness lingers and takes on a bit of a harsh aftertaste reminiscent of grapefruit pith. An above average IPA, but nothing distinctly outstanding.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pretty good IPA. Nice hazy orange appearance. Medium mouthfeel and a decent hoppyness. Like that it comes in a can for the pool club!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz can, from Wine & Brew in Michigan. Totally hazy amber color, lots of particles visible in the body. Thin off-white head, leaves decent bits of lace. Kind of malty, soapy, sweet in the flavor, with an odd old-hops aftertaste in the finish. Doesnít taste like a fresh IPA, unfortunately (no date stamp on the can). Some spicy citrus hops, but mostly just caramel malt. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, light carbonation, lightly sticky finish. Disappointing IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce can into pint glass, no canning date. Pours cloudy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, orange rind, tangerine, pineapple, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with bright hop notes and a moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, tangerine, orange rind, pineapple, floral, grass, light pine, bread, light caramel, and floral earthiness. Moderate earthy floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, citrus rind, pineapple, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance and complexity of hop flavors; with a moderate malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly crisp and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around nice hop flavor balance and complexity with moderate malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Vacation 2011 - Seattle and Olympic National Park
8/23/2011: Two Beers Evolutionary IPA... Aroma: Punchy, juicy, sugary grapefruit hops and some spruce. Appearance: Hazy amber-honey color; frothy off-white head. Flavor: Toffee maltiness; big mouthfull of fresh, hops; balanced, generous bitterness without becoming too aggressive (really controlled and just right for the style); grapefruit, pine, and resin hop flavors. Palate: Medium-bodied; smooth, slick texture. Overall: Excelent straight-up IPA.
1 Pint, 6 Fuild Ounce bottle (6.2% Alc. by Vol.; 70 IBUs). Rating #84 for this beer.

Can. Dark copper unfiltered. Heavy hop aroma and large white head. Heavy hop forward taste and you donít get a whole lot else. Ok IPA but not great.
