A full-bodied double IPA, Forester is an expansion of our ever-popular Evo IPA. Its Simcoe, Centennial and Super Galena hop profile brings soft floral aroma while citrus plays on the tongue. Finishing with a fresh bitterness, it leaves you wanting another sip…and another.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: AUG 30, 2014 Aroma of hops and malts. For a hybrid this actually has better hop flavour than most. Has more of an IPA flavour than a lager which is a big thumbs up in my books.
(The actual beer I tried was their India Pale Lager which brought this up. Oops!)

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a glossy/hazy burnt orange to amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing all invading but sliding right on into the beer.
The smell started off with a fairly decent dark strong caramel malt that lead into a decent dried citrus sweet aspect.
The taste was mainly sweet and malty with a slight bready take in the flavor.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat sharp but not overbearing as it lead me on and into a further depth of a want of detail...was it there? Slightly...
Overall, this was a pretty good beer that is worthy of having again if you like the maltier DIPA’s.

Muddy yellow brown in color, thin head. Nose is funky, a bit sour. Very sweet attack and wet sloppy finish.
