2009 marked the first year of this remarkable beer. We brewed two batches of this beer using hops that were harvested only a few hours before we used them. In addition to the Fresh Hops we used Amarillo, Simcoe, Centennial, and Cascade.

(22oz bottle) Pours an amber body with a tall off-white head. Aroma of caramel, herbs, pine, toasted grain, and citrus. Flavor of caramel, resiny pine, bread, florals, and grass with a dry, bitter finish.

Bottle:   Amber, slight haze, strong frothy head, off-white, nice lacing. Fresh hops on the nose.   Yeah, that pretty much covers it.   Perhaps faint resin or citrus zest, but minor.   Freshly squeezed hop juice up front, mild to moderate sweetness, not too bitter while remaining flavorful.   Falls a tad flat on the tongue tho, could use a little more lively carbonation, but other than that its tasty.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft hops linger.   A nice flavorful fresh hop beer, without being overly biting.   Could use a little more carbonation tho.

22. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a dense and creamy white head. Mild fresh pine nose, very forest-like aroma. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toast, caramel, iced tea, and a heavy resiny finish. Not bad but the dryness and crystal malt compound each other and make the finish a little harsh.

Bottle, golden orange pour. Caramel malt heavy IPA, lighter notes of pine. Probably not imbibed as fresh as brewers intended but decent flavor but hops were dominated by caramel maltiness. Ok

Nose is leafy and danky with some citrus and caramel malts. Pours amber, decent lasting head, a touch of lace. The flavor is caramelly, doughy with fresh leafy hops both fruity and danky with a fresh snappy bite in the finish. Well put together just not remarkably interesting.

Deep copper and bronze coloured body with a thick, six or seven centimetre tall tan head - ridiculous! Aroma of light earthy and slightly floral hops, some light caramel and toffee and a hint of maltiness - fairly light. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and herbal hops up front with hints of pine, earth, flowers and a bit of toffee sweetness on the end. Aftertaste shows well with a hint of alcohol, a nice hoppy flavour that isn’t overly powerful and a good sweetness. Overall, a nice beer to try that probably was a bit hoppier when it first arrived here in Alaska! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Brown Jug in Anchorage, Alaska (Northern Lights Blvd) yesterday on 22-May-2013 for US$6.95 sampled in my hotel room here in Anchorage, Alaska on 23-May-2013.

Draught at a beer festival. Pours a clear light amber color. Nose is very floral with some grapefruit and resin elements. Taste is light and fresh, and slightly bitter. Really pleasant beer with an amazing aroma.
