Nice stout-like dark ale. Less malty flavors than you'd see a stout, and more hoppy flavors instead. Very robust flavor, with lingering bitterness. Solid! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Deep brown-black with a foamy, tightly packed, tan head. Great-looking lace. Rich and meaty on the tongue. Wholesome and toasted. Charred flavors of multigrain bread, dark chocolate, cocoa powder and wood. Hops are citrusy and piney with a subtle, spruce-like sweetness. Healthy amount of grassy bitterness to boot. Solid CDA.

Black pour, off-white head. Pretty mild nose, grainy roasty aroma, with citrus and herby hops, Nice roastiness on the flavor with lots of hops and bitterness, more citrus and a bit of that mentholly hit that black IPAs often have. Very nice, would like to have it again.

In a small tapered glass, on tap at The Met. Black as the ace of spades. Little head on this sample. Taste is overwhelmingly of malt and molasses, with a back note of hops on the way down. Nice.

On tap at the brewery. Wowza. This was quite exceptional. Tons of pine hops all over the aroma and flavor. Nicely countered with roasty malts. I had no idea this was hiding 8.5% until the bartender said something after i was halfway through. Im definitely going to snag some bombers of this in the future.

got a bomber. very foamy head, dark but not pitch black. bites your tongue at the start and mellows out in the finish. could taste chocolate as well as citrus from the hops

On tap @ The Woods. Pours inky brownish black with thin off white head. Aroma is dark earthy roasty malt with faint floral hops. Taste is big charred super dark malt with hints of dark chocolate. Nice earthy hops on the finish, but Id honestly pin this as more of a strong porter than CDA. Either way, delicious.

4-6-13, poured from bomber: More hops than malts. Insane icee looking off white head. Tame malts finish. 8.8 BD; 7.9 KevMar; 8.8 Joek; 9.4 Mom

Bomber. Piney, resinous, and burnt malt nose. Black pour. Lots of dark fruits up front on the malt tip, while splashing notes of dirt and earth, and perhaps a bit of coffee, in the mid-palate. A luscious blast of NW profiled hops bitters in the finish, melding all the flavors together at the end. Real smooth, great body feel. Yum!

Bottle: Poured a dark black with a thin brown head. Aroma is light hops and huge bold roasted malt. Rugged hops meld transparently with bold roasted malts, slight coffee grounds as well.
