Using locally roasted direct-trade espresso and oatmeal malt, the deep chocolate and toastiness of this espresso milk stout’s malt profile is kept open and clean on the palate by the mellow acidity of Brazilian and Ethiopian espresso.

Serving: from tap at Veraci. Aroma: light chocolate. Appearance: small, frothy, light-brown initial head with very good lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, cola-brown body. Taste: lightly acidic, roasty initial flavor and lightly sweet, chocolate, roasty finish with short duration. Palate: medium bodied with watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall: very good.

22 oz. Bottle carried home by Eric S. And spilt 3 ways. Pitch black color with thin white head. Aroma is old coffee, sugar and chocolate malt.

The flavor is coffee with cream, dry roasted malt and mild old vanilla bean note. Lots of lactose sugar can be detected. The texture is dry with a medium body. The coffee bean held up real nicely in this stout. A tad above average and highly drinkable.

Pours pitch black and maybe a finger of tan head. Bold front taste and smooth finish. Subtle notes of coffee. A easy drinking beer for the most part, missing some flavor on the back end.

Bottle: Poured a pitch black with thin whisper tan head. Strong coffee bold espresso. Taste is rich dark chocolate with nice bitter coffee bean. I liked that the nose was bold but the taste was smooth and silky.

On tap at Rokko Beer Diner, 7%, this stout pours a deep black with a thick foamy beige head that like their pale ale leaves behind great lacing coating the whole rim of the glass as it slowly dissipates. Rich umami, soy & chocolate aroma. A smooth medium bodied beer with a soft mouthfeel. It is packed with roasty milk chocolate flavors with the espresso/coffee coming through in the finish & lingering aftertaste. Well done, there’s no hint this is packing a 7% punch.

22 ounce bottle into snifter; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, dark bread, oats, light cream, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and coffee notes with light-moderate earthy hop presence; and solid strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, dark bread, oats, light cream, herbal, floral, and roasted earthiness. Light earthy roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roast, toast, dark bread, oats, light cream, herbal, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and coffee with light-moderate hop presence; with good robustness and zero cloying after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, creamy, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good oatmeal coffee stout. All around good balance and robustness of dark/roasted malt, coffee, and light-moderate hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Pours a near-black color with a moderate pillowy light brown head. Nose is quite dry and slightly bitter, with a lot of roasting and just a little bit of coffee in there. Taste has a lot of coffee in there, and actually ends up being a little sweet at the end. Actually pretty smooth. Decent brew.

Bottle:   Black, deep cola hued edges, thin frothy tannish head, little lacing.   Coffee aroma up front, soft lactose and roasted malts.   Smells a bit like a Coffee Milk Stout.   Pale roast with a little apple/pear skin on first sip.   The coffee is a bit soft on the tongue.   Roasty, with slight lactose, smidgen of chocolate and coffee.   Average body and mouthfeel.   As it warms the coffee comes out a bit more on the finish, as well as a bit of dark or bakers chocolate.   A touch ashy too.   Decent Stout.

Dark brown color with tan sheen. Bitter sweet chocolate, coffee, astringent burnt oatmeal aromas. Light to medium bodied with average co2. Burnt grains, dark chocolate, lactose flavors___good.
