Using locally roasted direct-trade espresso and oatmeal malt, the deep chocolate and toastiness of this espresso milk stout’s malt profile is kept open and clean on the palate by the mellow acidity of Brazilian and Ethiopian espresso.

A pretty good coffee stout. Lots of espresso so its a bit on the bitter side, but the chocolate malts give an otherwise thin beer some sweetness and heft.

Draught at Garage39. Creamy coffee, brown sugar, cocoa, notes of vanilla, gentle sweet finish. Nicely smooth and flavorful coffee brew, a pleasant surprise from a somewhat uneven brewery.

Sweet malt, chocolate aroma with hints of hops. Dark brown colour with a short lasting brown head. Sweet chocolate taste with a hint of coffee and lots of smoked malt. Medium body with a distinctive malt palate.

22oz bomber. Opaque brown-black body. Patchy beige head. A solid example of the style. Creamy, smooth chocolate, coffee, roast malt tones. Full bodied, but smooth and clean..very refreshingly not overbearing or barrel aged. A pinch chalky.dry at times, where you might hope it would be a little more lush. The hops are hard to decipher, but certainly give it some nice balance. Creamy. milky finish. Solid.

Serving: from tap at Veraci. Aroma: light chocolate. Appearance: small, frothy, light-brown initial head with very good lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, cola-brown body. Taste: lightly acidic, roasty initial flavor and lightly sweet, chocolate, roasty finish with short duration. Palate: medium bodied with watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall: very good.

22 oz. Bottle carried home by Eric S. And spilt 3 ways. Pitch black color with thin white head. Aroma is old coffee, sugar and chocolate malt.

The flavor is coffee with cream, dry roasted malt and mild old vanilla bean note. Lots of lactose sugar can be detected. The texture is dry with a medium body. The coffee bean held up real nicely in this stout. A tad above average and highly drinkable.

Pours pitch black and maybe a finger of tan head. Bold front taste and smooth finish. Subtle notes of coffee. A easy drinking beer for the most part, missing some flavor on the back end.
