We took our time to get the finely-tuned balance of Persnickety Pale just right. The clean orange-peel character – brought on by Yakima Valley Chinook, Cascade and Centennial hops – balances perfectly with a soft caramel malt profile, built entirely from locally malted Washington grain.

22. Pours a murky dark amber with a loose and sudsy tan head and plenty of eggy lacing. Balls-out iced tea nose, super dense and leafy tea notes. Creamy medium body with lively carb, tons of iced tea, some toast, and bits of pine. Mild piney resin finish. Not bad, but way more on the crystal malt side of the universe than I generally go.

Hazed medium amber pour, thin white head. Very soft nose that has a herbal, slightly caramelly smell that comes across as sweet tea. Still gives the same impression when drunk, with a bit of lemon rind flavor, floral notes, some resin on the finish. Was a pleasant pairing for burritos, but not quite what I’m usually after in a pale.

Orange brick like color with beige like frothy head. Light caramel malt aroma. Medium bodied with malt notes of nuts and dark chocolate that do battle with strong hop flavors that take over in the long lasting astringent finish.

12 oz. shrink wrapped can- Pours slightly hazy orange with a one finger head that reduces to a soapy looking blanket. The aroma is hops, soap, maybe a little fruity. The taste is sweet almost candylike, some hops, not in your face at all, very sessionable. Body is medium to almost light, carbonation is soft. Overall not a masterpiece, but it is very drinkable, I enjoyed it.
