COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a little tip of the hat to our scientific, pioneering neighbors we created the innovative atom smasher limited run artisan beer. A heft, full-bodied lager reminiscent of Marzen beers from days gone by. However, this beer is aged in our oak foudres to add a complexity unmatched by the imported version of Oktoberfest beers today. Just add Ledersosen!

Wow... maybe im just bias but does Two Brothers make any bad brews. This one did not disappoint. Almost clear copper color with a 1/2 inch head. It has a mix of a sweet and sour smell. But the taste is the kicker. No caramel flavor or sweet sugary taste like some Oktoberfest, but it still has a strong Marzen flavor. This is a nice fall treat and the 7.7% abv is enough to warm you up on the chilly fall nights.... Booyaa

A decent Oktoberfest but nothing really special. Dark orange appearance with a decent head. Sweet and malty in the taste and a bit musty in the nose. Tried with Nick and Matt in Chicago in 2012.

Pours a dark orange with a small off white head and aroma of malt and caramel. Taste is sweet , of toasty malt, caramel, bread, and grains with a long finish and alcohol warming.

Rusty orange semi clear pour. Nose is grainy and kinda flat. Taste is oaky, with a nice bite of alcohol, and bitter sweet with some spice. Carbonation is soft, with medium texture. Finish is sweet and dry. Quaff Score 6 / 10

Bottle. Sweet caramel malt and apple aroma. Clear copper with a large ivory head. Fruity caramel malt flavor with a light hop finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Typical marzen. Heavy on the malts and slightly sweet. The oak aging does give it just a hint of something special, but not enough to make it awesome. Overall, it’s just ok.

Traded bottle (almost bought this at JJ’s too). Pretty nice fest beer overall. Pretty sweet malt forward and then finishes with a light hop bitterness. Fine with me.

Clear copper color, poured into dimpled mug, decent beige head but didnt last long. Hardly any aroma, feint cereal, malt, and hay scents. Flavor is very good, crisp dry entry then a malty finish, very little hops. Toffee, toast, caramel, and a bit of grassy flavors. The oak barrel thing they did creates a sensation of alchohol burn and wasnt neccessary or pleasent. Distracted the mellow smooth chugable Oktoberfest into a harsh smokey burn. Nice try and cudos to trying something new, but this did not work here, better to use oak barrels with a stout or double ipa. Medium mouthfeel had a creamy smooth feel until the bun crowded it out.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a cervoise goblet. A: Pours a very hazy dark amber with some lighter hues where the light hits around the edges. Off white head that dissipates into nothing. S: Malty with a little musty yeast smell. Dull orange zest. T: Taste follows the nose. Toasted malts with some dull zest. Pretty typical Marzen flavors. M: Clean. Little dry finish. Medium bodied. O: Not my favorite of the style. It was pretty average across the board. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-18-2011
