orange color, small off white head, some lace. nose is malty, caramely, yeasty, touch of dry fruit. i found the flavor a bit unbalanced with some notes of bitter fruit. medium bodied, dry finish. a little muddled to my palate, but inoffensive.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught @ Albion. Hazy reddish brown with small frothy beige head, very faint caramel aroma, high carbonation, woodsy flavor, slightly bitter caramel taste, abrupt finish. Interesting.

Pours a medium amber with two finger head. Smells of light malt and a touch of wood. Flavors of malt, a little wood, and a touch of fruit.

Very nice Oktoberfest beer. Higher abv but the overall taste wasn't heavy. Great flavor as well

Bottle. Best part of this beer is its aroma. Taste rather average. Nothing really stands out. Kinda confused on genre but overall, drinkable.

Clear Amber pour with a little white head. Sweet fruity aroma. Definitely malt forward but not as much as other fest beers. Slick and creamy kinda. I like it a lot. The oak aging adds a bit.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Ugh. Not a fan of this beer. Lacks all of the malty goodness of an O/M. Aroma was weak. Earthy with a slightly toasty malt smell. Not inviting. Pour was a clear medium brown with a one finger off white head. Taste was not very good. This beer did not benefit from any oak aging as its flavor is thin enough that you can’t taste it. Lager yeast with a big metallic flavor dominated with roasted malt in the finish.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle pours a clear Amber with a large khaki head. Aroma of faint mildly sweet caramel malt, fruity, and a light spice. Taste of caramel malts, fruity hops and yeast, there is a bitterness and spice on the finish I’m not digging.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. 1/11/16 BB date. Appearance: Crystal clear dark copper/amber, with a low, slightly off white foam head.
Aroma: Lightly toasted malt with some herbal hop notes. Touch of light caramel and vanilla.
Taste: Rich toasted and caramel malt sweetness, with well balanced, but not strong herbal bitterness. Almond noticeable on the back end.
Mouthfeel: Medium body and moderate carbonation. Slight hint of alcohol on the swallow.
Finish: Well balanced bitterness, but this is malt forward with some lingering toast. Some alcohol and almond stick around as well.
Overall: A solid Marzen, still very drinkable considering the elevated ABV. Oak aging adds little character, but I do pick up a touch of almond. Nice on a cool evening.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I have tried this one a few years in a row. I’m a fan of Marzen style and every year I have my fill of the traditional German Marzens. This one has a different spin on style. A full bodied malt. The flavors of the oak aging are there. The abv. is upped to almost imperial levels. Bready and caramel malts are the main focus here.

12 oz. bottle into pint glass. Pours clear amber with thin off white head. Aroma, malty. Flavor, toasted grains. Not a favorite.
