3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear golden amber with a full white head that laces the glass. Aroma is caramel and spices. Taste is sweet caramel malt, butterscotch, biscuits and just the right amount of hop bitterness to balance. Top drawer Oktoberfest.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Pours deep golden with a creamy beige head. Aroma of honey, and caramel, sweet malts, toffee and candyish. Toasted bread and a bit cookie like. Flavor is very sweet, a bit of oak and a lot of honey, so sweet and candy like. Finishes a bit on the bland grainy side, and a creamy toffee richness. Medium to full body and a soft carbonation. I actually like the idea of an oak aged oktoberfest, it is just too sweet and a bit cloying to be elite for the style.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
orange color, small off white head, some lace. nose is malty, caramely, yeasty, touch of dry fruit. i found the flavor a bit unbalanced with some notes of bitter fruit. medium bodied, dry finish. a little muddled to my palate, but inoffensive.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep copper color with a light red hue. Modest white head that fades down fast. Aroma has a mild caramel, light grainy sweetness, very light smoke/woodiness but it reminds me more of a very heavy toasted maltiness. Hop presence, even though the label says 22.6 IBU, is pretty subdued mainly due to the heavy toasted malt presence. Flavor has an early hop spiciness but this quickly fades to a slight soured malt middle with some apple and grainy sweetness ending with a good toasted malt presence. Body is pretty hefty for the style but the carbonation is pretty low lending a slight oily texture. Overall a decent Oktoberfest but not stylistically true. A bit strong in the malt and hops flavors than what you tend to see in the style. Balance favors the malt tones as they come a bit more prominent in the sweetness. Woodiness in this, as with their other foudres brew, is very subdue and almost non-existent.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 ounce bottle. Served in a mug, the beer pours a hazy dark orange/amber with about a 1/4 inch off-white head that went away quickly. There’s pretty much no lacing at all left on the glass. Aroma is caramel and bready malt, nuts, oak and a bit of tart apples. Taste is pretty much the same as the aroma. It’s a mostly malty brew, with the caramel and bready malt flavors being the strongest, and with some oak, tart apple, nutty and earthy flavors noticable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit syrupy with moderate carbonation. Drinkability is good, it’s smooth and enjoyable. I think it’s a decent enough brew, but it’s not something I would buy very often.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle at home. Nose is oddly sweet, metallic, and synthetic. Malty? Flavors are similarly strange. I get a big sweet chemical taste. Light grassy hops. I don’t know, maybe a bad bottle?

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a slightly hazy brownish red. Aroma of grain and malt. Malt forward with nutty overtones followed by maple syrup. Then the finish is crisp while the bottom drops out and bitterness is left.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear, amber pour with a thin off-white head. The aroma is a little earthy, but it has some sugary candy notes. It has a medium body with slick texture and average carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with some alcohol in the finish.
