CaptainCougar (4663), Rockville, Maryland, USA Feb 2, 2003 Heavy wheat malt aroma and bready yeat profile. Looks like a normal wheat beer, but tastes far beyond that. Extremely complex flavor palate is lightly fruity with apricots, honey, and Hallertauer hops all balanced with a mellow sweetness. The mouthfeel is thick and syrupy, but not overwhelming. It's like they made a barleywine using wheat malt and German hops. To top it off, the alcohol is masterfully hidden. This is truly a unique brew and a must try if you can get your hands on a bottle.
wetherel (1033), Carlsbad, California, USA Mar 5, 2008 Tasted at 2008 Woodshop hosted by cquiroga. Malty. Light amber color. Little oxidation. Hing of sour. Buttery. WeeHeavySD (1839), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Mar 2, 2008 18th Rating from 3rd Annual Woodshop tasting in Temple City, CA. 3/1/08. One hell of a day put on by Cquiroga, thanks for a killer day Chris. Also spent the day there with bikesanbeer, my girlfriend Cyn, wetherel, JohnC, DenverLogan, dirty_martini, jasparg, DrBil, IPAFiend, awaisanen and many others, this was one crazy day. Bottle from one of cquiroga’s many boxes. Pours copper and bubbly. Sweet nose, dried fruit. Taste is sweet and sour. Not as good as the 2005 vintage if you ask me. DenverLogan (421), Oceanside, California, USA Mar 1, 2008 Amber; big lingering head. Aroma and flavor are of funky rich apple malt beverage. Strange and unique fruit stuff...lots of flavors but not too beery! kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: Bare Tree

lovemyipas (420), sw burbs, Illinois, USA Mar 19, 2007 pours a cloudy orange color with a one finger white head. aroma is of sherry and champagne, yeast, and malt. has a light to medium body with some sediment and ok lacing. flavor is sherry, oak, a little champagne, yeast, and malt. has some bread aroma as well with some nice carbonation. very awesome from the cellar and a nice beer all together compared to others’ i have rated. by the way the 10.5 abv dont taste it, dont feel it going down, but definitely feel the head and body buzz! some caramel flavor and aroma comes out as it warms especially on the second glass and the color is dark orange as well.
