FunkyBrewster (122), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 7, 2008 Pours a golden orange color with a small white frothy head. Aroma is spicy and fruity with quite a large variation of fruits that become apparent as the beer warms. Flavor is also very fruity with some vegetable flavors like sweet corn that came through. Spicy finish yet still very smooth throughout. Very little carbonation. Medium body. This is a nice sipping barley wine, especially with the high alcohol, and definitely much different than your standard barley wine.

Dried apricot, Ceder, Vanilla Beans Dominate this bottle. Carbonation wasn’t really there at all, very little if any. . . On the viscous side with a lingering aftertaste that was very enjoyable too me. . . I think that what got me to buy this beer after I had it on tap. . .
2007 off Tap: Now this one was on tap at the Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, IL. . .
A notch better then the 2007 out of the bottle, a bit more carbonation, and instead of a Dried Apricot flavor, it seemed to have a more fresh cut Apricot with a peach taste, with the Wood and Vanilla Bean taste on the finish.. . .
Not a big Two Brothers fan, but this beer was pretty kick ass on tap. . .

Taste is slightly sour, interesting weird mineral flavor, more wheat. No noticeable heat.
Taste is sweet melon and banana, yeastiness.
So fucking strange.
Finishes smooth.
So much wheat presence.
This is very good stuff. FlssmrBrewAlum (205), South Chicago Suburbs, Illinois, USA Jul 16, 2008 Guest beer poured on tap at Flossmoor Station (Flossmoor, IL). Pours a wonderful darker gold hazed hue with a nice substantial white head in a snifter glass. Aromas are very wheaty, some fruity esters and vanilla are detectable. Initial is also malty, leading way to typical wheat flavors that are genuine and not clouded by impurities. Some banana, vanilla, and sugary sweetness. Eventually leads to a more acidic, almost green grapey bitter finish on the back end. I’m not quite sure either way. The finish is probably the most special part of this brew.. that and it’s ability to hide it’s alcohol content from the taste. Good. Interesting. Worth a try. inkubus27 (99), USA Jul 16, 2008 Had this on tap at Flossmoor Station. Very nice to finally experience a heavy version of a Hefe-Weizen. This had the tradtional aroma of cloves and banana, but tasted much more malty and full-profiled than a regular thin bodied hefe. This is a great twist on a hefe, and one that’s definitely worth the try if you’re a fan of hefe’s.
