Bonfire Dunkle Weiss is one of a series of special limited-run beers in styles that are more extreme or unusual. This one’s a unique dark wheat beer with a delicious toasty character, just like fall. We brought the chocolate, so don’t forget the marshmallows! ""Bonfire Dunkle Weiss is a big, toasty and chocolaty version of our Ebel’s Weiss. This beer has subtle clove, banana, vanilla, and caramel notes along with a nice malt sweetness. It is perfect for those cool fall nights. We bring the chocolate you bring the marshmallows.""

I really loved this reissue of Two Brother’s vintage Dunkle Weiss. A beautiful dark wheat beer that pours a dark brown into a glass, with a thick foamy head. A lovely toasted character in the body and a little bit of chocolate banana in the undertone and a sweet, malty finish.

Bottle: Pours dark brown with a huge, dark tan head. Slightly tart aroma....unripe banana, caramel. Taste is slightly sour, cloves....banana. A little chocolate. Not bad.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours dark brown with a ruby hue and about 3 fingers of thick khaki head. Aroma of banana, chocolate and something a little tart. A little clove and nutmeg in there too. Taste is light tart. Im getting some distinct brett here. Infected bottle? I get a little chocolate and a little banana...but mostly sour. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long, sour finish. Overall, interesting. I think it may be infected but i do like sours so its pretty good. I would like to try it how the brewer intended though.

Bottle. Strong clove, vanilla, banana and caramel malt aroma. Dark hazy brown with moderate head. Strong clove flavor - lighter notes of banana and caramel malt. Decent body. Nicely made - one for the clove lover.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a weizen glass. Pours a dark brown with a two finger cream-colored head. Smells of light roasted malt and a bit of clove. Opens with a mild chocolately flavor mixed with light tones of clove and banana and a bit of bread. Finishes smooth with light chocolate roasted malt flavors. Very light bodied. A decent brew, however the flavors never really come through and were never as upfront as I would have liked.

Pours a dark bwon with a 2 finger, creamy, tan head that has great retention and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is very toasty, nutty, chocolate, light smoke, sweet bread spice and a light int of basement funk. Flavor is more toast, chocolate, cloves, a bit of smoke, walnut skins, dark caramel and a slightly tart, funky finish with some lingering caramel and some faint spicy hops. Palate is medium body, slightly slick and sticky on entry, moderately carbonated and has a slightly dry chalky finish. This beer seems to have some brett or other tartness/funk producing bugs in it, I could be wrong. Whether or not those possible bugs, or the definite tartness is intentional it is still a fairly tasty beer.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle. Pours a darker brown with a fluffy, khaki colored head of foam. The aroma is nicely roasty with a chocolate covered banana feel to it. The aroma is actually really pretty nice. Taste is sweet and estery with a hint at the roasty notes found in the aroma. Not a bad beer at all.

Sent to me by Strykzone in a trade. Thanks Dave. Poured a dark reddish brown with a good sized tan head and thick lacing rings. Nose is moderately roasted malts with some sour notes. Medium body. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor shows chocolate and vanilla. Some sourness in the finish. Quite good.

Tap @ The Stag’s Head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are yeast, banana, caramel, wheat malt and hops. Very smooth finish and oily palate.

Bottle pours slightly hazy cola color with thin tan head that recedes rapidly to a ring. Pleasant aroma of esters, wheat and bread. Taste banana, malt sweetness, yeast, mild clove. Tiny bit of chocolate which I wouldn’t have noticed unless I looked for it. Palate thin and bit carbonated. Finish slightly dull, mainly a continuation of the taste. Alcohol not apparent.

Not bad, not great.
