3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
My nose is stuffy from cleaning out the musty basement, so I don’t get much besides spiciness from wheat malt, the spices or Belgian yeast, maybe all three. Pours a burnished gold under a slightly yellow-orange head. Taste remains pretty high on spices, I get more of the coriander than the pepper others are picking up. Cascade, I think, hops are mostly a suggestion. Main focus is on spices, but well done. Possibly mingled with wheat and Belgian yeast. A good dinner or cheese beer. I get just a touch of citrus from orange peel toward the end.

Poured from the bottle to a pint glass, I’m always looking for something different, and this was the last 6 pack on the shelf so I carried it around while I browsed. I also like to list benefits of a beer and this one benefits the field museum so that’s one (+). This is one of the best white IPA I have tried, it has a certain dry, bitter, hoppy flavor and is not sweet like others I’ve tried. It is also stronger than most 6.5% (+). I like the 2 brothers originality and this did not disappoint. Cheers!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pour is orangish amber, mostly transparent, with a decent amount of white head. Nose is malty, syrupy sweet caramel, and notes of orange citrus. Taste is similar, a touch of stale grain, light sweet malt, moderate citrus. Medium and slightly syrupy body with gentle carb.

On tap at the brewery. Very Orange in appearance. Strong aroma of spices. Good taste, perhaps too much spice.

12oz bottle 9/22/14 (Binny’s Naperville Mix A Six)-42° in Shaker-Pours a hazy goldenish amber with a nice white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and coriander. Taste of the same with more citrus and hops. This light bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Kasey’s Tavern in Chi-town. A light golden appearance with some decent lacing characteristics. Described as a white IPA but less white than IPA. Some of the sweet, fruity, citrus flavors. Not much in terms of bitters and no malt presence. It’s definitely one of the better white IPAs I’ve had recently. It can stay in my cabinet.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap, poured into a sampler glass. The aromas are a bit thin, but present. Mostly lemon and orange zests with a bit of coriander. The pepper is very light, along with a touch of banana and bread crust. It pours a nearly clear pale color with a dense, but small white head that retains well (a light surface layer that covers the full surface). It leaves a good, thin web lace. The taste is a medium sweet and medium / medium high bitter. There’s lots of fuzzy carbonation and a creamy texture. The full body finishes with the dry, white pepper and spicy coriander along with an abundance of citrus peel. The aftertaste is mellow, but lingers with a dry spice character.

Hazy unfiltered orange color. Really picked this up because it benefits the Field muse um. Light cotton candy citrus and alcohol nose. Good hop flavor with grape, orange peel and spice flavors.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
355ml bottle. Considering the collaboration, throwing orange peel and coriander seems a bit lackluster wouldn’t you say? White IPA is a style I might never figure out. Pours a surprisingly clear gold with an extremely soapy foamy head that surprisingly sticks leaving large lacing bubbles. The smell is sticky orange, and some herbs. Strong and pretty nice. Flavor it jsut too sweet for its own good. Oxidized nougat bar, wheat, and sweet orange peel. Just way too sweet for an ipa let alone a witbier (if thats what they were going for/ a combo of ipa and witbier).
