Pours a clear golden yellow with small frothy white head. Aroma is grain/malt, yeast, and a hint of hops. Taste is a nice balance of sweet and hoppy bitterness. Very refreshing and light; great summertime beer. The best lager I’ve had in a long while.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma: Doughy--like fresh bread--with hints of dry hops.
Appearance: Pale gold with hints of effervescence and thick, white head.
Palate: Medium body, heavy carbonation, thick, oily texture, long sour finish.
Taste: Medium sweetness backed with a medium sourness, almost tart.
Overall: Very decent, but a bit too sour in the finish. Still, pairs well with burgers or pizza, and would be a solid session beer.

Bakersfield on tap. Bright yellow, faint aroma. Taste is a nice crisp grain, lemon, sweet corn, with a real nice balanced bitter pine hop finish. Only knock is that the carbonation faded quickly which for a pilsner is a bit of a drawback, but otherwise great balance of bitter and sweet. One swell hot-weather beer!

12oz bottle 6/23/12 (Trader Joe’s Naperville)-46° in Lager Glass-Pours a clear light golden with a small white head. Aroma of sweetness. grains, and hay. Taste of the same with some hops thrown in. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty. Nice job.

Poured into a perfect pint.
3.5 A: Lightly hazed golden wheat color. Two fingers of frothy white head. Retention is average and a good sized ring of lacing is left.
4.5 S: Crisp. Dank earthy and grassy hops. Graininess that comes off as almost funky. Peppery yeastiness. Lightly spicy. Quite intense and wonderful.
4.0 T: Again dank earthy and grassy hops with a mild spiciness. Peppery yeastiness. Grainy, yet clean and dry. Tasty.
4.0 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Crisp and easy to drink.
4.0 D: Solid beer. I always appreciate a solid lager.
