This French-style country ale is deep amber in color. With a toasty, sweet caramel start, it finishes with just enough hops to clean off the palate. Bon Appetit!

From tap at MikkellerBar. Pours dark brown with a small tan head, rather brown compared to other ratings here, asking the staff they remained firm on this keg said to be the domaine dupage. Dark roasted malty, toffee, dense and light liqourice. Hardroasted, no acidic notes. Dense dark toffee malty, roasted and dark. Mild bitter and dry malty finish. Almost coffee like.

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Clear copper colour, small airy head. Bready floral nose. Orangey and bready with caramel and mango. Medium bitterness. More perfumy surface and less depth and subtlety than the north French beers, yet a really good beer!

Amber color; creamy head. Light caramel aroma. Caramel flavor, light residual sweetness; smooth mouthfeel, but also dry at the end. Correct bitterness; still some medium sweet caramel in the final. Easy.

Pours a cloudy golden orange color with a finger of white head. Very heavy on the banana aromas with a nice spiciness of clove and white pepper. Some candied citrus peel, sweet orange, and a bit of yeast are also present. The flavor is quite sweet for a biere de garde. Lots of bread, biscuit, and caramel. Some apple peels, orange, pear, and candied citrus peel fruitiness. The spices are there as well, mostly clove with a bit of white pepper.

Dark amber; firm body; caramel; deep toasty, rich malt. Earthy, with a hint of nuttiness. Long finish that dries out a bit.
