Pours amber with a smallish, long lasting head. Caramel aroma. Earthy taste mixes with minerals and some sweetness. Interesting, well made beer I’ll be drinking again.

First 2 brothers I have tried and it was very good. Aroma was a bit lacking but still very tasty.

Not bad. Toasty woodsy caramel is about right. Not a ton going on but pleasant and mellow throughout. Barely enough hops to notice but i liked the malt and yeast character

Head was frothy whites that fully dissipated. The taste was uncarbonated, sweet malt with the smallest amount of funk. The nose was malty with a caramel and fruity aroma. The palate was smooth and medium bodied.

Ruby pour with dense white head. Malty aroma. Flavor is generally sweet with lots of caramel malt, a little spicy yeast. Some grass hop and bitterness in the finish. I like it, but the body gets a bit cloying.

The beer is slightly hazy, with a deep amber body and a reddish cast beneath a short but creamy head of white foam. The nose is offers a combination of delicately toasty and straw-like grain with caramel and slight fruitiness. The body is medium-light with a zesty, very-fine bubbled carbonation. The flavor starts with bold, toasty and caramel malts upfront, followed by a splash of fruit (sour cherry, tangerine, plum) that fades into a rather dry finish. Mouthfeel is medium to light. The beer reminds me of a toastier and drier Irish ale. I loved it.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep amber with a pencil thin white head. Roasty caramel aroma. Malty, cereal with a bit corn. Mild hops. Clean finish.

Caramel/amber in color. Caramel, berries, and bread. A bit of hops shine through in the end and bring it around to being pretty well balanced out. A tasty beer, but not my favorite.

12oz bottle poured into a plastic cup. Aromas of toasted caramel and berry sweet are most noticeable with a late, light note of an old damp towel. It pours a clear brown orange color with a soapy white head. It retains nicely with a near solid pillowy surface coverage and an abundant, sticky lace. It tastes of a medium high sweet caramel syrup. This beer has a soft, subtle carbonation with a syrupy texture and a medium - full body. It finishes with primarily a toasty and roasted caramel note with some berries and a muffin character. There’s also some faint lactose and roasted nut. There’s a slight grain aftertaste with some caramel, but it’s a light and short aftertaste.

Somehow this one slipped through the cracks, though I’ve had it many times.
Soft amber-cherry body is topped by a small but neatly retained light beige head.
Nose is very toasty, bready, maybe a touch buttery (not diacetyl) and alludes lightly to biere de garde though the specialty malts seem to push most of the yeast nuances to the sidelines. Touches of earthy, lightly spicy hops further detract from what I’d like to smell in a true BdG; rich, layered malts and some light phenolic notes alongside light to moderate fruitiness. Of course, everyone is welcome to their own interpretation, though in a non-stylistic sense, I just think this thing is too dry, astringent/scratchy.
The flavor fairs a bit better, despite there being a fair amount of breadiness/doughiness, there is some light acidity that is pleasant, perhaps hop driven? Not as scratchy/astringent in terms of the toastiness, but it’s certainly still a minor issue in the flavor. More sweetness than expected helps allay some of these scratchier malt notes and the texture is pretty firm throughout.
Overall, I’m just not getting much complexity; toffee and brown bread with some very light earthiness from the hops. The breadiness/toastinesss grows fatiguing, somewhat, by the end.
