JugOPunch (74), leominster, Massachusetts, USA Apr 24, 2006 On tap: Another disappointing beer from this brewery. Little or no aroma. The flavor was so mild to almost be nonexistent. The only thing was a slight muddy caramel and a buried wood and toast. This was watery from start to finish. I was really sorry I ordered a whole pint of this stuff. It had the absence of quality I would expect from a macro.
Syd (741), Twin Cities Metro, Minnesota, USA Oct 11, 2008 Bottle pours a hazed amber brown with not much head (I tried) and very little residual lace. The aroma is fruity and somewhat spiced. The flavor has a very sweet malt base that tries to hold up some hops and spice as per style, but seems a touch too sweet. The palate is medium bodied and refreshing. This is not bad. It accompanies food well enough. Overall, I’m glad I picked it up as part of a build your own. jjpm74 (3155), Stratford, CT 06614, Connecticut, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle courtesy of tytoanderso. Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of some sugar, earthy, fruit. tastes spicy and peppery with some perfumy touches. Nice. JFURYCAT (725), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 4, 2008 Caramel comes out heavy and is dosed by some malty sweetness along with what I sense to be a candle like waxy flavor which bottoms the initial sweetness out. It seems like a rich beer which could be stellar. Thanks to afterexile for sharing! 502Flavors (283), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 4, 2008 12 oz. bottle from mixed TB 12 pack (really surprised to see this style in a commercial variety pack). Poured into shaker. Pours a very hazy light copper color with a creamy decent sized head that settles down to about 1 quarter inch and holds pretty well. Smells like pale malt with some roasted darker malt and some distinct nuttiness. Flavor starts out sweet any nutty malty with a bit of hop balance (quite enjoyable actually) but fades after a second or so into a strange thin metallic flavor. Getting better as I drink it though, less and less of the metallic flavor. Medium bodied and smooth on the palate with minimal carbonation. Overall: solid after the first few sips. dEM1972 (51), , Illinois, USA Sep 28, 2008 5.9% Abv, 16.9°, 24 IBU; A slightly dark caramel-brown in colour, visible fizz rising, but not too much; it has a caramel aroma; the caramel is brought through into the taste with elements of a rich-roasting of the malt, it then gives was to a pleasant bitterness that I would not say is overly bitter for my palate; a caramel aftertaste.
