ThaBobfather (130), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 7, 2008 Good smell of malt and nuts. Nice Light amber color. It’s very flavorful, thick, and complex.
malrubius (417), USA Aug 20, 2008 12 ounce bottle in Duvel glass. Hazy reddish amber with barely a ring head. and a little lace. Brown sugar and fruity aroma. Brown sugar mild caramel toasted toffee sweetness some peach fruitiness and watery finish with cloying sweetness and very mild hop. Medium body and and low carb, nearly flat. Tastes and feels like a decent novice homebrew. (I’m holding off on submitting while it warms up a little more.)
Nah, just ok. Could be spicier and more effervescent.
Just checked the bottle for a best before date: 7/19/08. I’ll have to give it another try if I can find a fresh one. pope_phred (96), Plainfield, Illinois, USA Aug 18, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a hazy, amber body, topped by a small head of off-white foam, with some lacing evident. Strong caramel notes in the aroma with a hint of cherry. Full, creamy body with light carbonation, and a moderate amount of sweetness. Palate consists of a toasted caramel, tempered by a slight bitterness, which overall, balances nicely. Aftertaste is minimal, but on the sweet side. A fine sipping beer, which I would like to savor alone, while the flavor is not too complex, I feel that the aroma complements the palate nicely for a satisfying brew. allfreej (286), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottled. Copper pour with a decent tan head. Fruity nose, cherries, toffee. Falvor was malt, caramel, cherry, oak. Finish was dry, refreshing, and nicely bubbly. rds (85), USA Aug 15, 2008 A near clear amber brew with a negligible head, but a robust hoppy finish that I find quite fulfilling. A must-try. amish_caravan (204), Winona, Minnesota, USA Aug 13, 2008 pours an amber color with little head. scent is kind of bland. taste is quite nice with tones of caramel. not a bad beer, but it is a little bland.
