ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Aug 20, 2007 Appearance: Pours a lively, cloudy yellow body with a foamy, off-white head.
Smell: Aroma of dried wheat, cracked cloves, bananas, and a little bit of citrus.
Taste: Starts with sweet-tasting wheat and lemony citrus flavors. Mild notes of banana and cloves follow and last into the flowery, lightly sour finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Lively carbonation.
Drinkability: Seem like a hefe-lite to me. Still, though, it was fairly refreshing and easy-drinking. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Aug 15, 2007 Thanks to skyview for sharing. Cloudy yellow orange body with a wheat aroma and some banana spice. similar body. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 6, 2007 Slight banana and bubblegum in aroma. Fairly sweet but flavours are muted. Decent bitterness rounds it out. Average. crushinat0r (227), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 4, 2007 Light yellowy and cloudy in colour. Smells wheaty and sweet fruits. Tastes similar to a Hoegaarden with a hint of banana. Nice and refreshing. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 3, 2007 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at The Coffee Grounds in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Pour a murky light amber brew with an average off-white head that quickly dissolves to a fine film and ring with some spotty lacing. Aroma of wheat malt, cloves and a touch of banana esters. Taste is light to medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of wheat/multi-grain malt, bubblegum and some banana. Finish has a faint vanilla and banana taste with very light bitterness. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jul 16, 2007 bottle - Pours light, hazy yellow with an ample yeast and citrus aroma. It tastes very yeasty and is lively on the palate, refreshing, and mild. There’s some citrus notes there, but it could have used a bit more noticeable spice character. It’s still a fine hefeweizen though. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Jul 14, 2007 Bottle purchased at Corral Liquors in Granite City, IL. Pours a light amber with lots of rising bubbles and a frothy white head. The nose is a dull wheat with faint notes of banana and clove. Light and thin with lively mouthfeel and a lightly astringent finish. The flavor is of sour wheat with banana and clove in the background. Interesting but not great. Mildly metallic in the finish and a bit too sour for my tastes. BeerBelcher (930), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 16, 2007 This wasn’t a bad hefeweisse, but I can’t help but think (after having my first Schneider Weisse tonight) that American brewers just can’t quite master the German-style weisse beer. This beer is bright yellow with a pretty persistent white head. Aroma is pretty malty for a wheat beer, with some citrusness. This beer is not very clovey for a beer of this style. Maybe it is the lack of spice, the fairly abundant citrusness, the yellow body, or the white head, but this beer really reminded me of lemon merangue.
