Commercial Description:
With nice, malty sweetness and a soft aroma of clove, vanilla and banana, this German-style hefe weizen is unfiltered for a glowing orange hue.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with a foamy white head. Standard hefe goings on with banana, clove and citrus notes. Everything seems a bit toned down but it works as a decent Summer brew.

Mix of orange and brown in color makes this an unusual sight for a hefe. No foam at all until the bottle was almost completely in the glass. Most of what I taste is clove with a hint of lemon. Very little banana flavor. In the mouth it is smooth and crisp with just a hint of tartness in the back of the tongue. This one was a pleasant drinking and well crafted beer.

12oz, Best by 11/03/06. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a tiny white head. Aromas of typical banana and clove, some lemon, and a weird bitter plastic smell. This is a little more sour than I’d expect a hefe to be, but you can’t win ’em all. Medium bodied, moderate-light carbonation, somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Not too bad, doesn’t quite compare to my Weihenstephaner-I spelled it right on the first try.

Enjoyable, but maybe a little off for a hef. Pours any orange-y color, which seemed a little odd to me. Nice aroma, some clove and sweetness. Malty start, Cirtusy middle, with a soft finish. Like to cook with this one.

Bottle - aroma was somewhat subdued. Some of the clove and a bit a banana mixed with the malt. Color was a bit lighter than the orange in the description, but nice nonetheless. A small ring of white foam atop. Very tart flavor. No where near what I think of when I think of a hefe, but I like it anyway. Quite refreshing!

Pours a hazy light amber color with a smallish and very white head. Clove, banana, and some citrus in the nose. Flavor was a little subdued. I have had this beer before but just never rated it and I remember it being much more tart and lively than this one was. Still, decent clove and yeast flavor to it. A pretty standard hefe in my books.

Clove, banana bread, yeast, vanilla, and orange peel. Banana, yeast, clove, and lemon in the flavor with some lemon freshness. A very decent beer, but nothing to be amazed about. Probably better on tap I would imagine.

Nice orange color, not alot of haze. Mild citrus sourness and fresh fruit is prominent with a banana bread sweetness also at the forefront. Clove complements the background without becoming cloying, as it should. Easy on the palate and refreshing.
