steview (901), Los Angeles, California, USA Apr 6, 2005 snifter / best by jan. 7, 05’ / it smells like a hef! ooooh... meh. acidic, lemon, and sour aftertaste that i don’t enjoy. i think it kills the complexities within the flavor, which the aroma hints at. blech. i had to drainpour, but i’m sure this much better than the sample i’ve had. i wonder how it is fresh and on tap. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Feb 25, 2005 Best by 1/7/05. Very cloudy orange gold color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and citrusy and lemony. A medium bodied Hefeweizen. Malts are fruity and extremely citrusy. Lots of lemon flavors (think lemonade). Lively carbonated. There is a Hefeweizen in here somewhere, but I just can’t get past the lemon flavors. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is citrusy and lemony. TChrome (1298), Bedford, Texas, USA Feb 16, 2005 Pours cloudy honey color with not nearly enough head for this style. Gonna have to take off appearance points there. Aroma improves upon the appearance with notes of banana, clove, some esters, and a bit of sourness. The flavor is overly sour for this style. It seems the banana, clove notes are there, but are buried under the vinegar. Will have to re-rate a fresher sample sometime. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Dec 31, 2004 This bottled brew marked best before 11/30/04 poured a small sized head of frothy fine to large sized mostly diminishing white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained average carbonation, was slightly hazy and light yellow orange in color. Its aroma contained notes of mild tingly . Its mouth feel is initially tingly slightly off with a lingering tingly palate and a aftertaste. Its flavor contained the hefe-weizen flavor is buried in it but is not well known with some fruitiness it is missing the banana and yeast notes notes. little to compare to a good German Hefe-Weizen. HopsOrDie (687), New Lenox, Illinois, USA Dec 22, 2004 When I bought this, I was afraid it was another American wheat (no flavor). That’s not the case. Pours hazy yellow with high carbonation but no head to speak of. Clovey and spicy aroma and flavor. Very light and easy to drink with a refreshing acidic zing in the aftertaste. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Dec 12, 2004 Bottle. As the label reads "BEST BY 11/30/04." Poured a small white head, sparse lacing, cloudy, carbonated, and a straw yellow hue. Aroma was right on for this style-malty, sweet, banana, clove, and spicy. The flavor; however, was not good for this style IMMHO-sweet, very, very acidic, sour, tart, malty, and spicy. Mouthfeel was very acidic and not at all pleasing to the palate. Light bodied GH. sfontain (506), Columbus, Ohio, USA Dec 11, 2004 Slightly murky golden; no head. Aroma yeast and banana. Similar taste; nice wheat aftertaste. Medium body; fairly clean. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA Nov 26, 2004 Updated: Jun 4, 2008Looks like someone hawked a damn loogie in the bottle. That aside, this beer is a good hefeweizen. It’s most prominant flavor is lemony citrus. Light bodied and kinda sour. rerate. fresh and very lemony. kind of flat out of the bottle
