COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With nice, malty sweetness and a soft aroma of clove, vanilla and banana, this German-style hefe weizen is unfiltered for a glowing orange hue.

Refreshingly citrusy/wheaty aroma. Malt is a strong orange/clove/banana flavor. Slight spice but not very yeasty...a bit too carbonated perhaps. Not perfectly smooth but above average flavor for a wheat. Banana notes in the finish.

Cloudy golden, with a healthy head. Extremely soft in the mouth, nice soft cloviness (not overpowing). Not much lemony acidity. This is an extremely nice german wheat. I may have to find a couple six packs of this for the dog days of summer.

Notes of citrus, wheat and banana come through in the nose. Murky orange; very similar to all the Weissbiers I had on my recent trip to Munich. Although Two Brothers captured the essence of a true Bavarian Weissbier, they were not able to create a brew that produced the wonderfully large, billowing heads characteristic of the native German style. Also, although they deserve kudos for leaving the Weissbier unfiltered, the dark yeast in a good German Weissbier wasn't quite the same in the Ebelweiss. Still, a good effort and one I'm sure would give native Germans a longing for home.

Beautiful in the Weisse glass: Gloomy banana liquid underneath dense, bone white, patchy whipped foam with the trademark style stickiness. Strong aroma, which consists of banana cream pie, key lime pie, white grape, phenols, and soft notes of vanilla. Sparkling, velvety effervescence abounds the palate. Overly done estery flavors. Furthermore, the intense clove flavor mutes what lies beneath. Still, there are subtle banana, vanilla, and leafy hop notes. Not quite done, as there is an intense rush of vanilla and acidity toward the finish. I never thought I would say this, but there is not enough underlying character to compete with the intensity of the clove flavor. Still, thumbs up to Jason and Jim for crafting such an estery, authentic Weisse beer.

This has the traditional German wheat spicey nose and color, but my bottle seemed way over-carbonated. This was a very acidic beer with too much lemon and not enough other German characteristics. I found it too thin with none of the complexity of a good German Wheat. May have been a bad batch because I remember liking this beer better.

Very pleasant lemon banana aroma. Pours with a lot of fizzy head. Very tart and sour body. Not sure if this was intended, or if the bottle I got was past due. Still a decent brew. Kinda tastes like lemon juice was added. Could be a bit smoother.

Lemon citric and yeasty aroma. Opaque dark golden in color with plenty of carbonation. Flavor has a light sweetness melded with a very fruity citrusiness and abundant, estery yeast. Finish is tart and shows some wheat malt. Surprisingly sharp and acidic in character. Refreshing.

One of my favorite Chicago area brews. Some people are turned off by the strong banana flavor but I dig it. A good weiss for people who don’t like weiss beers...not as strong of a wheat taste as others you’ll find.

Thick and cloudy. Tons of banana, vanilla ice cream, and croissant in both the nose and taste. The server of this was very interested to see what my reactions were. Maybe because I had a Bells sweatshirt on, or maybe because I was the only person in the giant Oktoberfest tent writing down notes. I assured him that it is a great wheat, minus a bit of spice. He seemed happy, shook my hand and went back to pouring from the keg. He smiled and waved proudly each time I went up for another...
