drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Aug 26, 2008 I’m liking this brewery less and less. Something wrong with this wheat. Not for me. A bad finish. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 7, 2008 Tap at Barcade. Very cloudy deep yellow brew with a thin white head. Aroma is absolutely loaded with a bright banana and clovey spiciness. As it warms, the aroma is really quite lovely with a rich spicy wheatiness shining through the bright banana character. There is also a touch of lemon/grapefruity citrus in back. Full-bodied and very creamy/wheaty body. Sweet without being cloying. What a great hefe. LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 7, 2008 Bottle, best by 9/3/08. Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of spices (clove, corriander). Flavor is rather fruity and sweet for a hefe (lots of citrus, also kiwi, pineapple, grapefruit). A slight sourness from the fruit too. I liked the fruitiness of this hefe and it was quite tasty too! Interesting hefe. fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 6, 2008 Bottle, best by 9/3/08. Aroma fairly typical for a hefe, but a bit fruitier outside of banana. Flavor quite sweet and fruity, spicy finish. Not bad, a bit sweet and a bit boring. zeke626 (301), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jul 26, 2008 Bottle, thanks to akevitt for sharing. Pours a hazy orange body with a short-lasting white head. Aroma of malts, wheat, and citrus. Flavor is more of the same with more citrus and lemon. Light bodied and very drinkable. Finishes crisp and clean. msante79 (778), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Jul 21, 2008 Really did not care for this brew and was hard to finish. Pours a light golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma is cloves, bananas and some light citrus. Flavor was sour and soapy with hints of banana, clove and vanilla. Wasn’t the worst thing I have had it just did not mesh with my palate. FlssmrBrewAlum (1053), Lisle, Illinois, USA Jul 16, 2008 12 oz bottle from a six pack bought at Party Liquors (Steger, IL). Pours a nice cloudy orangeish-gold hue with a decent white billowy head. Aromas are nice, consisting of clove, banana, and touches of vanilla. Initial is nice, largely sweet malt consisting of clove and banana esters. Mid way through, more citrus lemon comes through. Finishes sour and not as smooth as hoped for. Ok, finish turns it weak. chicagodri (1021), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 14, 2008 Pours a cloudy gold with a very thin white head. Nice aroma of vanilla and banana as advertised. Goes down smooth, but I thought it was a little too sweet. Wish it had a little more carbonation. I didn’t taste that much clove, but I am not the biggest fan so that was probably a good thing.
