No, it’s not my favorite beer, but I think it’s a damn good one. Being a Chicago-lander, I drink this often in the summer and spring. The aroma is subtle, but vanilla and clove yes, over a distant citrus/hop base. But I really love the mouth feel, very full and creamy whenever I’ve had it (though there may have been a bottle or two in there that came off a little watery. It’s also one of my favorite outreach beers, especially to women who normally don’t drink beer. Overall, I love this beer and I’ll keep buying it often. PilsnerPeter (2612), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2008 Bottle: Deep murky/cloudy golden with an astronomically large head that rises and never decreases. Frothy and resilient; great looking beer. The aroma has some oxidized notes in there. Yeasty; musty basement, honey, herbal notes and very mild banana. The mouth feel is frothy and voluminous; a bit prickly as well. This was an expired bottle, by about a year, so the yeast had been gaining character. It developed a solid tartness. Fresh lemon juice, along with a nice wheat malt bite. Some subdued ripe banana is detectable under the lemon-rind tartness. There’s also a subtle honeyish background with a later touch of white pepper and an overall smooth acidity. Extremely quaffable. Nice. Unique69crazy (119), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

Not bad though. Has a slight vanilla aroma with a smooth taste. dude107 (7), Chicago, Illinois, USA does not count | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Pretty tasty. Clear banana and bubblegum flavor, but seemed watery compared to other hefeweizens I have had. gunsho (134), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 12, 2008 Pours a cloudy orange with basically no head. Nose is funky bananas with a spicy and very, very doughy edge. Flavor is tangy citrus. A bit too bright IMO. But still in the grand scheme of things, fairly complex. Feel has a decent carbonation and the liquid is alright. Overall this is a fairly decent hefeweizen. Won’t go down as the most interesting, but it’s certainly a noble try from an American producer.
