I haven’t had this one in awhile, but my records indicate that I liked it quite a bit... one of my favorite American versions.

Source: On tap at Medici in Normal, IL.
Appearance: Poured a cloudy amber color with a thin white head.
Aroma: The aroma was very spicey, with notes of cloves and yeast, with citrus notes.
Flavor: Citrus and acidic with a strong clove presence.
Palate: Medium/full body with solid carbonation and a silky mouthfeel.
Overall: Thought this was a decent Hefe, but not the best on the market.

Bottle, from Julio’s. Best by 12/26/05. Good nose, citrusy. Label describes it best. Clove, banana, vanilla. Hazy orangy gold color, small head that faded quickly. Tart, sweet flavors. Like aromas with a little soap, little metal. Thin body, lite creamy mouthfeel, dry finish. Good easy to drink beer. Hefe’s aren’t a catagory I’m in to so I guess take my rate for what it’s worth.

Bottle, best by 9/3/08. Aroma fairly typical for a hefe, but a bit fruitier outside of banana. Flavor quite sweet and fruity, spicy finish. Not bad, a bit sweet and a bit boring.

Bright orange pour with white head. Estery, banana aroma with some spice. Flavor is pretty decent for a hefe, banana, vanilla, spice. Nice bubbly mouth feel. Pretty good.

Nice cloudy appearance, good floral aroma, sweet flavours - orange, yeast and sugary banana. Lacking the peppery spice I enjoy about many wheats. . . oh well.

Lot 1503. Pours a HUGE frothy head, maybe because I just got home with it. Cloudy amber body. Has a sweet lemon wheat aroma. Sour lemon flavor, with added sweetness to make it bearable. Added to the lemon is banana. Bubbles bite the tongue a bit. Not too sure about the sour aspect of this one.
