3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: FEB 26, 2006 New rating, 2/26/06. Got a fresher bottle this time (best by 1/30/06), so let’s recheck this pup: I can see I was seduced then by malts that get concentrated with age. This one pours a darker gold color, and a bit more haze than in most American iterations of a weizen. Big banana nose at pour, but not much in the glass, just a sprightly wheat character under a fluffy, short-lived head, poured into a 12-oz. weizen glass. Banana comes back in the taste, with mild notes of clove, and a touch of bubble-gum and vanilla. Not quite the heady feeling I get when drinking a properly-presented Hacker-Pschorr, but I think real Hefeweizen fans will enjoy it.

Another 3-year-old bottle from my stash, so this is a review of how well it ages, which a weiss is not meant to do.
A slight flowery nose when opened, then pours a dark weiss color, with a little less than standard haziness. The spicy flavor has subsided, leaving the malt to deepen to an almost syrupy richness. Hop flavor is subtle, more to make the alcohol feel a little warmer. Taste is well out of the style profile, but ages to a fine beer nonetheless.

I got this at Binnys. Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Taste banana, sweet, clove. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at home. Basically a yeast bomb, with huge aromatic esters. Banana, bubble gum, clove, white pepper. Light bodied and quaffable. Very tasty.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at craft ale house. Pours hazy yellow with a huge white head. The aroma has a typical mix of banana and clove. This carries to the taste. Slightly above average spiciness. Standard but fine.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Orange/gold pour that is quite cloudy with a fuffy white head. Lots of banana, clove, double bubble gum and wheat flavors. Creamy and tasty.

Okay beer. Kind of tough to swallow though it had some good flavor to it. Would try it again i think it might be better off draft than in the bottle

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a slightly hazy orange with white head. Smells of clove, banana, and hefe yeast. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. A decent hefe.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
A hazed golden weizen with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, classic banana and cloves, esters, decent. In mouth, a light weizen with bananas, cloves, cream, a bit watery.

Way sweet. The banana is overwhelming. Vanilla makes it a little sweeter t han needed and I can barely taste the clove. Not my type of beer.
