The aroma is quite like the scent of ripe persimmons in the fall after a first frost. The flavor is more lemon citrus with only a slight estery taste. This does not seem very german to me. jake65 (1779), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 6, 2010 Bottle: Light haze in a soft golden colorwith a large, but quickly disapating, white head. Nice balance of wheat and spice in the nose with just a little yeast. Initial taste is soft and wheat-filled, followed by a spicey trailer. Can’t really pinpoint much more than corriander and perhaps allspice, but that doesn’t really say much. Finish becomes a little more dry before the yeast is detectable and ends crisply, almost tingly. Definitely not wheat dominated, but more artistic for the style. Enjoyable.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Pours a very hazy yellow with a big sort of loose head that largely goes away after a little bit. The aroma is of orange and floral perfume. The flavor has plenty of citrus both from hops and from yeast. There is a mild but absolutely noticeable sourness (that I really like) there is some lemon rind and mild spiciness. Ughsmash (4178), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Bottled. Poured lighter golden with a short, but dense cap of white head. The aroma picked up sour lemon and orange zest plus wheat over a pale base.. quite tart overall. The flavor was sour as well, with mostly orange zest and wheat.. spicy yeast joined that sourness on the edges.. long, refreshing finish. Tart and well-carbonated on the palate with a lighter body.. this was engaging and enjoyable.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 23, 2009 12 oz bottle from Four Firkins. Cloudy straw color, head quickly dissipates. Wheat/yeast aroma with banana and spicy notes. Taste has quite a bit going on, citrusy, especially lemon... banana... tangy. Finish is heavy banana. FunkyBrewster (572), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 20, 2009 On tap at Two Bros. Pours a lightly cloudy soft yellow with a one finger thick white head. Aroma is soft and sweet, some vanilla and banana notes, not a lot of the clove or spiciness, or any bite really as the sweet notes are the only presence. Flavor is a bit better, still a lot of the vanilla and banana but the wheat adds some needed balance, though not a lot. A tiny citric character appears towardst he finish where a bit of the hops copme through and provide some sharpness that lingers. Medium body and a fizzy carbonation. Sadly this weizen did not fulfill my expectations. hombrepalo (799), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 10, 2009 12 oz bottle. Nice yeasty cloudy yellow beer with big yeasty aroma with sweet fruity aroma. But then a super sweet, lemon-zest of flavors, almost too much like lemonade.
