Heavier Handed is one of a series of special limited-run beers in the styles that are more extreme or unusual. This Artisan Beer is in celebration of our new French oak tanks, called "Foudres". Tons of fresh, wet hops from Washington State power through this stepped up version of our seasonal IPA.

Redish orange with a fast disappearing head. Brilliant citrus hop aroma. Slightly sweet with malt in the nose once in the mouth and a nice dry finish.

aroma of fresh green hops appearance is hazy amber with a nice head that laces the glass well Taste left a strong bitter bite at the back - Awesome Palate is carbonated and just how I like a good IPA Good beer - not sure I would go out of my way for it but all around good brew.

Poured a hazed glowing orange amber with a decent off-white head. Short lasting. Big sweaty and citrus hop forward aroma with mild woody notes. Hop flavor to start. Pretty dominant but mixes with a sweet malt. Light vanilla underneath. Hop finish outlasts the sweetness but not by much. Some warmth with a medium body. Goes down too easy.

reddish copper pour with a foamy head. Aroma is resiny hop, lighter citrus and some woody tones as well as a bit of caramel and vanilla in there. Carbonation is pretty low giving it a softer mouthfeel, woody tones come forward in the flavour, some grapefruit citrus and light buttery caramel maltiness and the bitterness takes a bit of a burnt caramel turn towards the finish.

Pours a slightly hazy reddish/mahogany color with a sticky white head. Aroma is dominated by pine and grapefruit notes with of caramel underneath it. Taste is dominated by hop bitternesss but balanced nicely but not completely by caramel malt. Finishes very short but sweet, literally.

Poured hazy orange with a slightly off white head. Smelled of deep floral and piny hops with a slight oak character. Taste right up front is hops, and the oak aged fits in perfectly in the middle. Not quite the bitter ending I was expecting, but still a terrific beer.

Bomber pours reddish with thick yellowish head. Aroma is complex initial hops citus and pine but swirl the glass and a musty wood surfaces that masks a soft sweetness. Taste is hop punch followed with smokey sweetness. The oak aged doesnt seem to soften the hop flavor like some of the other oak aged. Instead it adds some subtle charred flavors like charcoal to a steak. Finish is smooth at first and then bitter dry mouth tongue tingle. I like this a lot

JPDIPSO (4956) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 7, 2009
Lightly hazed burnt orange color with a moderate, stable, tight bubbled, beige head. Hints of pale and caramelized malt, covered over with citric hops. Moderately sweet with an acidic hops bitterness to balance. Some dry wood in the finish. Feel is lightly oily. Heavy , or heavier as it is stated seems to be true with the flavors, albeit a bit unbalanced.

Bottle. Pours orange with an off white head. Aroma of citrus and a little bit of wood. Great citrus and bitter hop flavor, but well balanced as well. A very nice brew from Two Brothers. Worth a try.

Bottle from Crown#6. Pours murky bright orange with some white foamy head that disappears quickly. Nose is juicy citrus fruit and some bready malt. Flavor is smooth, slick, juicy citrus hops, orange and grapefruit dominate with only a slight touch of pine if I concentrate real hard on it. A little dry and bitter in the finish, leading to the hint of oak used in this brew. Pretty good IPA.
