3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Big thanks, as always, to the MCLK. Pours clear copper with thin off white head. The aroma is afoul with spicy hops, a dash of earthiness, big grapefruit and orange rind. The taste is smooth and a tad thin with suitable levels of spicy hops, grapefruit hops and a dash of sour to tart orange ring. It seems midway and to the finish a bit of sweet malts and possibly a wood note surfaces amid all the hoppiness.

22 oz bottle. Thought Heavy Handed IPA was good, but excited to try this, as I like other stuff by Two Brothers. Pours a reddish-golden color with a tiny off-white head that dies quickly. Smells of caramel malt and light hops. Tastes of malt, oak, and a hint of hops, but is really boring. Light bodied too. Not impressive.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from the 22oz bottle a rich copper color with a dense, creamy, off-white head sitting atop the brew. Aroma hits your nose as soon as the bottle is opened. A pungent citrus nose abounds with a mild resiny note, strong toasted malt note (akin to either a Maris Otter or Munich malt backbone) and finishes with some mild caramel sweetness. Flavor is very well balanced with a strong citrus and resin hop punch in the early going but this eventually fades to a smooth toasted malt and low sweet caramel malt notes. Body is moderate to heavy with low carbonation that keeps the head nice and dense, allowing a great amount of lacing on the glass to form. Overall a very well balanced brew with a great combination of solid hop flavors and toasted malt. If you’re a hop head, this is a fantastic brew to grab and enjoy.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Fresh bomber, courtesy SoLan. Pours a lightly hazy, golden-orange to amber color. A tall, frothy head of ivory tinted foam is well retained, leaving thick, sticky, cobweb-like lacing all over the glass. The aroma shows a big toffee and caramel malt base, slightly buttery, with soft hints of vanilla and toast from the wood. Citrus blossom hop notes boom from the glass, but seem a little muted, taking on an orange marmalade profile. Flavors are nicely blended and balanced, again showing honeyed toffee sweetness with a countering, citrus hop punch. The palate is full and lush, but also slightly sticky and cloying, finishing slightly boozy. Solid brew.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Nice orange-amber color, shiny! Rich with full-on malt and a big, rich, piney hoppy character. Slightly metallic, but quite quaffable, delivering a nice balance of BIG and flavorful. (#3794, 1/12/2010)

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz. Bottle: Aroma of fresh hops, pollen, light caramel malt, slight citrus, light resin, slight grapefruit, flowers, and some pine. Poured orange/amber in color with a medium-sized, creamy, rocky, off-white head that diminished a bit but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Lightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet, and medium to heavily bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, resin, light caramel malt, light wood, and slight citrus. Medium to full body. Oily, slick texture is lightly dry. Average to slightly lively carbonation. Bitter, hop, resin, and slight wood finish. 8.1%ABV is dangerously hidden throughout.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
750mL bottle. Poured slightly hazy medium amber with a dense cap of off-white head. The aroma was delightfully juicy with wet grapefruit, pear, and pine resin over a sweet caramel base.. touches of oak and vanilla in there.. sweet overall and entirely succulent! The flavor opened with tangy wheat and pine resin, rolling onto a sweet caramel and darker bready core.. hot bitterness surrounded in the form of pine resin, black pepper, and grapefruit.. warmer yet on the back-end leading to a thick, bitter finish. Heavier-bodied with an almost syrupy feel on the palate.. very bitter, yet very sweet.. the oak treatment provided minimal impact, but the additional wet hops did a great job. I’d gladly drink this again.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
aroma is soft, earthy notes of wood and big albeit not sharp resin. appearance is translucent ruby, hard to believe this is completely unfiltered. flavor is savory hops, delivering clingy, organic note devoid of citrus besides a bitter nearly lemon like finish. wood is subtle which works out to be quite classy. not as well developed (or less complimentary base beer) then the oaked domaine dupage.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Blind Tiger. Pours a rich caramel color with an off white head. Nose is a but sweet and clearly hoppy. It seems like it would be a huge iipa, and it has some aspects That are pretty big. Nice hop flavor and pretty decent bitter finish. There is a bunch of sweetness and some caramel flavors. But there is a thinness more so in the flavor and also in the mouthful that leaves this out of the upper echelon of big ipas. Good, but not great.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from BeerBunker. Thanks man! Nose is nice and hoppy with orange and grapefruit, some caramel, orange marmelade, vanilla, and woody notes. Pours hazy orange with a decent head and some lace. The flavor is nice and citrusy hops on top of some marmelade and caramel. This is followed by some vanilla and lightly woody oak notes. Hop resins are juicy and citrusy. Medium chewy dryness on the finish with lightly noticeable alcohol.
