| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 20, 2009 Pours deep, slightly coppery amber with a 1 finger rocky yellowish head that has good retention. Aroma is pine, caramel, floral, biscuit, toasted grain, light orange peel citrus and a bit of black tea. Flavor is caramel, biscuit, toasted bread, a little butter, burnt sugar, light mineral notes and floral notes near the end. Finishes with herbal hoppy bitterness and pine, just a little tea. As it warms the tea comes out a little more and the bitterness seems to increase in strength and length of aftertaste. Palate is light to medium body, slightly slick on entry, drying out a bit, but still slightly slick on the finish and has a pleasant, moderate strength carbonation. Not a bad IPA, more along the "Englishy" lines of the style, but stronger and more bitter than most English IPAs I have had. Not bad 6/3/7/3/13 41cubs (134), , New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Smells like the raw dough of a pine and orange rind sugar cookie. Flavor is sour citrus and saltine crackers leaning toward a light bitter finish. Mouthfeel is silky to start with a refreshing prickly blast of carbonation toward the throat. Awesome beer and a great addition to the style. Beautiful medium amber glow on this one too. Thanks Two Brothers. 2009 12 oz. Lyncham (54), Ohio, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 15, 2009 I had the super Galena hops. The beer is very refreshing. The aromas are grassy and fresh. The hop bitterness produces and excellent finish. The color is deep gold/copper color. monkeychugg55 (222), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 13, 2009 I tried both the Williamette(2549) and the Columbus(3069) batches. I like the Columbus better because it has a hoppier aroma and flavor. Pours a ruby-copper with a nice sized off-white head that left plenty of lacing. Aside from the hops, the aroma has a lot of bready malt, almost like a dunkel. I lie the flavor of the malt, although it is unusual for an ipa. I found the Columbus variety to have more cirtus and pine than the Willamette, as well as ibu’s. Nice balance and mouthfeel. drowland (1380), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 8, 2009 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours reddish brown with a 2-finger off-white head. The aroma is caramelly malt and a touch of sour hop with even a hint of booze - surprising for such low percentage. The flavor is caramel and a bit of roasty malt with a good dose of hop dryness but not a whole bunch of hop flavor. ucusty (1881), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2009 12 oz. bottle of the 2009 version. Pours a dark amber with little head. Aroma is a beautiful blast of flowery hops and honeyed malt. The flavor doesn’t quite live up to promise, however. Very hop forward, but lacking the brightness of the best fresh hopped IPAs. Decent malt backbone, but finishes with astringency. Good, but would be great with a little more balance and a modified hop profile.
