alexanderj (2213), Chino Hills, California, USA Feb 1, 2008 Bottle; poured a clear, rich orange color. Large, slightly creamy head. Aroma was nice and fresh; with citrus, grapefruit, and caramel. Flavor was like the aroma, with a nice toffee background. Some resin in the palate, which was nice. A pretty solid and good brew. Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Jan 20, 2008 Nice looking IPA with a medium brown body and a small head with little retention. Aroma is grapefruit but is somewhat subdued. Feel is a pleasant oily texture. This is clearly a well hopped beer but is on the sweet side. Grapefruit and pine stand out along with caramel. Bitter aftertaste is of tart grapefruit. It is difficult to imagine an IPA being very much better. hoppopotamus (182), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jan 16, 2008 Amber-red with a small white head that doesn’t last too long. Smells like some fresh hops all right, but I could have used a little more. Pine, floral notes and a bit of malt in the aroma. Not as grassy as I expected, with a solid malt backbone. Finishes bitter. Very good IPA. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 14, 2008 Wow I am surprised to see such a low rating for this, I loved it. Maybe its just my love of wet hopped ales talking, but this had some great flavor and smell going on. A nice thick feel to it as well, this leaves the SN Harvest in the dust. AOF (282), Naperville, Illinois, USA Jan 1, 2008 Dark copper/amber color, thin white head that left sticky lacing through out the drink. Grapefruit zest, sweet piney hops, pineapple, carmalized sugars, and sea salt aromas. Truly well balanced in the nose. A smooth and creamy IPA with a high drinkability. Almost perfect in my opinion. Lost a point for a slight bitterness in the finish that just didn’t mesh with the aromas. Still, an excellent IPA and one of my favorite all around beers. aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Dec 31, 2007 Pours a very clear copper. There’s plenty of caramel malt, but this is very moderately hoppy for an IPA. It’s lightly sweet. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA Dec 27, 2007 12 oz. bottle, from DrMatt - thanks dude! Pours dark amber with a small beige head that leaves stringy lace. Aroma of toffee, earth, oranges and floral hops. Flavor is sweetish, with caramel and ripe citrus, dusty/earthy notes abound in this wet hop brew, with floral and a bit of evergreen. Medium body, tingly carbonation. Nice to get a chance to try this. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA Dec 21, 2007 Bottle. Clear copper pour with a frothy off white head. Some stripes of lacing. Aroma and character defined by caramel malt sweetness with big leafy hops. Fresh tasting hoppiness lends a mild orange tea flavor, leaving a tannic as opposed to resiny bitterness on the finish. Nicely balanced. Refreshing. Pretty good.
