Looked more like an amber than an IPA. Aroma of hops and citrus. Traditional IPA flavor, with a nice malt backbone that leads into a hops hit with citrus undertones and a piney finish. Nice IPA. I had never heard of this brewery until I received the beer in a trade, but I was impressed with it. Thanks Andrew. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

The nose is full of hops. Floral slightly piny. A bit grassy. Some mild (for the style) malt that goes a touch darker than most IPAs, but not too far. Relatively full on the tongue, though the carbonation seems very mild. The flavor is bright with hops, but there’s a bit of that garlicy flavor that seems to creep into slightly older hoppy beers, so this might be a bit past peak. Again, big sweet malt, floral hops. The balance is nice, especially in an IPA that isn’t huge on that ABV. The finish is a little less clean than I’d like, but it tastes like age, so I don’t hold it against the beer. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Updated: Dec 2, 20072007 Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a nice slightly off-white head. When this is fresh the hop aroma is very good. It isn’t the most bitter of IPAs, but plenty of piney hoppiness prevails throughout. A nicely balanced beer, enough malt to hold up to the hops, but not so much as to lose its hop identity. Not the very best of IPAs, but very enjoyable indeed. A go to IPA when one is needed. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Very easy to drink. Quite surprised at how unlike an IPA this seems to be. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2007 <bottle from Archer Liquors> Crimson fiery amber pour with a quickly fading offwhite head. Smell is light, fresh hops and sweet candy like sugary malt. Taste is nicely hopped, but mild for 60 IBUs. Candy like sweetness follows mild fresh hop flavor. Not soapy, and is easy to drink. Sweetness turns almost to grain-like sweetness as it warms. All in all I’m very happy with this, and would recommend it as a nice mild IPA. oh6gdx (8838), Vasa, Finland
