More resin-y? flavor combines with caramelly sweetness and slightly noticable alcohol to produce a heavy flavor. I prefer ipas with more of a bright citrus character. durhambeer (1202), Durham, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 26, 2009 Thanks ucusty for sharing this one. Cloudy orange pour, with an abundant head. Bitter hops and a good bit of spruce in the nose, slight malts detectable. A very full mouthfeel and a decently luxurious body. Some sweetness comes in the flavor but overall it’s dominated by dry pine and grass. Decent. phaleslu (467), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 23, 2009 12 oz. bottle from Dutch’s in Cincinnati. Hoppy aroma with citrus and malt. Sweet, citrusy, hoppy flavor, but with some soapy, alcoholic notes that prevent it from being smoother and balanced. The problem I had with the alcohol in this one was that it gave a sort of unnatural, chemical character which tainted an otherwise simple hop/citrus/malt IPA. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2009 bottle into... my mouth. Honestly, its a prety legit IPA. More than I was expecting (citrus, grapefruit hops with some cereal malty backbone). Medium bodied. Easy drinker but not a pounding beer. Overall; quality session brew, whose abv might sneak up on you! 3Faveryrogue (80), Asslip, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 12, 2009 Couldn’t make out the lot #. Dark, clear amber. Decent tan head. Smells of very sweet hops and malt. Caramel, earthiness. Mouth is kind of slick, still thin. Body and flavor are a good balance. More caramel, malt on taste. Touch of volatile alcohol somewhere. 62 Ibus sounds appropriate. I liked this, though par for the course. One of the better 2 Bros I’ve had. 13mikey (139), New Hope, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 9, 2009 12 oz bottle from the Four Firkins Dark golden color, thick crater-like head that leaves nice lacing. Hoppy aroma with some major malty notes to it. Flavor is the same, malty and hoppy with a bitter finish. Pretty smooth beer for how big it is. megrut (7), Chicago, Illinois, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2009 I’ve had this beer many times, but had a rare opportunity to try it on cask last night. The cask version is certainly softer/creamier, with less hop bitterness than the original version. After a side-by-side comparison, I’d have to stick w/ the original. I’m a cask fiend, but an IPA’s got to have a nice hop blast for me. Overall, this is a solid IPA with a crisp, bitter finish.
