Feb 7, 2009 Cask at the Brazen Head. Malt sweet and sweat aromas, some cedar and bark. Kind of sweetish orange flavor, lightly bitter. Not terribly exciting.

Feb 7, 2009 Bottled. Pours a clear copperish color. Decent hop aroma with a bit of maltiness. Some sugars as well. Fairly hoppy flavor with a bood amount of sweetness. Good balance. Finish is quite bitter.

Feb 4, 2009 (bottle - 12 oz) Rich amber in color with a fizzy and lasting white head. Aroma is a light mixture of hops and caramel malts mixed with some light citrus and pine. Flavor has a good hint of floral and bitter hops mixed with some tart citrus, lightly sweet malts, and a light smoky note. Finishes dry with a lot of bitterness.

Jan 31, 2009 I had a pint at two brothers tap house. The beer has a fresh hop aroma, with flavors of caramel, and citrusy, piney hops. Quite enjoyable beer, I could drink this every day I think.

Jan 30, 2009 (11/23/08) Draught at Hop Leaf in Chicago. Deep amber color. Aroma of fresh piney hops and some cookie-ish malt. Flavor starts with sweet malt, caramel and some cookies. Continues with bitter hops, some pine needles and some citrus notes. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Jan 24, 2009 Bottle, served in a shaker. Medium-dark amber body topped by a minimal head. The nose to me smelled entirely like pool water, chlorine city. At first the flavor was rather nondescript, even though it was served at a proper temperature, but as I emptied the glass some subtleties of nuts, caramel, and grass emerged. It finishes with a decent bitterness. Certainly not as good as I envisioned when I read the description on the beer menu and definitely not worth the $6 I paid for it.

Pours copper with thick white/tan head.
aroma has light notes of hops and fruits, malts.
Taste, malty, lightly fruity with grapefruit and citrus with a nice bitter finish.
Notes of sweet brown sugar, well balanced not too bitter, smooth and thick mouthfeel.
Simple not too complex and straight to the point. I enjoyed that one a lot.

Jan 22, 2009 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a red-chestnut color with a large orange-tan head. The aroma was moderate notes of pine, grapefruit and sweet malts. The flavor was sweet and tangy with notes of pine and grapefruit and light nutty malts. The beer turns bitter and sour towards the finish. The finish was long and hop. Solid if unremarkable.
