3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 21, 2012 Lot#2552-Centennial.
Almost ruby like orange maybe more of a copper/light amber. Short head, some lacing.
Aroma of hops is pretty mild next to nothing, maybe some slight floral fruit slight pine but you really gotta look for it but with warming some dank resin and fruity hops come out a bit, and Im getting more malt light carmel/vanilla and yeast mineral water instead . Maybe this sat around for a bit.
Taste is carmel malt smooth,a little spice some mild citrus fruit but more citrus fruit/spice more noticable in the finish. Some yeast taste and at first I got a hit of yeast funk/old yeast that was shortlived but off putting at first-turned out ok with that though.Very smooth bitter /has a piney linger and fairly mild hop flavor maybe even more malt /carmel maltpresence really overall. Ive had this before but havent gotten around to rating it,but like before I still like the Resistance IPA alot more.Since they have different hop/lots I guess it is almost like rating a different beer each lot. Still a decent malty Ipa.Seems a bit aged. Nice beer but I like more of their others better, looking forward to a heavier handed soon for the first time.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Lot 2521, vintage 2011
Pours a dark reddish brown with a solid finger of soapy, peanut foam leaving behind pretty cobwebs. Smell is piny, earthy, tea like and has a solid malty backbone; some notes of toffee.
Flavor is quite malty, with a Smacks cereal flavor. The malts definitely own this one, the hops come through as a cameo but are subdued to simple earthy, sweet notes, nothing particularly notable. Medium bodied with moderate carb.
This is a lesser fresh hop IPA. If they marketed the beer as a fresh hop ale, versus IPA, then maybe a little more like my tastes. As it is, itís a decent enough brew, but know it is not your typical IPA at all. That being said, I donít know the freshness of this either.

Bottle to shaker glass. Pours a clear amber color. Nice nose of some citrus and floral notes. A bit more malty than Iíd like for an IPA. Still, good flavors of floral hop flavors. Heavy malt backbone.

3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a cloudy orange with a hint of ruby with a half a finger of slightly off white, slowly dissipating but not overly foamy head. Not much aroma, just a really faint hop smell. Despite the odor, surprisingly strong taste. Starting off with caramel taste, it then sort ends with a slight hop bitterness. This is actually a very well balanced beer, and the hops arenít overwhelming but the flavor is quite good.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Centennial #2. Pours a nice deep copper with a good off white rocky head. Aroma is grapefruit and pine. Taste is tangy pine resin with citrus undertones. Sweet malt backing with a crisp hop bitterness. Medium bodied and mildly carbonated. Drinks easily. Overall I like this one. It would be nice to try the different hop varieties used in this side by side, but all I could find were the #2 Centennial.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Average aroma of hops....mostly floral....hint of alcohol. Amber in color....darker than anticipated...tan head. First taste is a mixture of very sweet malt and hop bitterness. Malt is stronger than bitterness until the finish. Finish is a bit too long and overpowering.

Draft at Farmers Cabinet. Billed as Heavy Handed #2. Dark hazy copper pour. Slight tan foam head. Rich sugar plum flavors. Darkly sweet without being cloying so. Barley sugar. Burnt orange peels. Thick palate. Not overly complex, but a great combo.
