Flavors are lighlty roasted crystal malt sweetness, bread dough, pine, citus and grapefruit. Decent bitter finish and pleasant to repeat. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 14, 2007 A nice smooth IPA indeed. The pour was a hazy orange with no head. The hoppiness of this beer was almost perfect. Could have been a little fuller, but it was better than a lot of IPAs I’ve had lately. The spiciness was a nice surprise. thegreenrooster (1853), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Mar 4, 2004 I would describe this as a medium hopped ipa. Color is copper with a great big white head that stays for the entire experience. Not much aroma. Flavor is of course hops with a floral after taste. Many raters have described a grapefruit flavor which I also get as the beer goes down. A good to excellent ipa! SDbruboy (1833), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 27, 2007 12 oz. bottle, from DrMatt - thanks dude! Pours dark amber with a small beige head that leaves stringy lace. Aroma of toffee, earth, oranges and floral hops. Flavor is sweetish, with caramel and ripe citrus, dusty/earthy notes abound in this wet hop brew, with floral and a bit of evergreen. Medium body, tingly carbonation. Nice to get a chance to try this. thornecb (1820), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Mar 11, 2006 Pours deep gold into a shaker. Conglomerate head leaves lacing as it recedes. Citrus and pine notes. Light carbonation -- very little mouthfeel. Bitter finish. Just sort of slips down.... Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 17, 2003 Quite fresh hop flavors indeed, and as pretty much everyone here has mentioned, very little underneath. It's not exactly watery, and I've had much worse eau de hop kinds of IPAs before...a little like DFH 60 minute in the hoppiness but without the bits of sweet malt underneath. illinismitty (1811), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2006 Updated: Oct 7, 2007Pours copper with very little head. Weak aroma for an IPA, but I picked up some caramel and faint hops. Initial taste is malty, but finishes bitter and grainy.. A tad resiny in the mouth. This beer was nothing special. With the exception of the Hop Juice, Two Brothers beers have so far been a disappointment. I’ll keep trying, because I hear good things. UPDATE:10-6-07. Draft at Radio Maria in Champaign. I noticed some soapiness/hairspray notes on the finish. Rating will stay the same. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 24, 2005 Bottle. Great grapefruit hoppy aroma. Perfect use of aroma and bittering hops. The aroma and bitter balance each other out almost perfectly. This is one of the best IPA’s that I have ever had. Thank to Bu11zeye for sharing!
