Aroma is very nice with citrus being the most dominant player. Flavor hits with a good dose of citrus hops which quickly gives way to some sweet malt flavor. Finish is lightl bitter and very nice. I enjoyed this beer. WeeHeavySD (3044), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

Taste is overly bitter and a bit too sweet for me. Overall pretty good though. SledgeJr (3032), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 6, 2006 In the bottle. Pours a dark copper color with a rapidly dissipating head and awesome lacing. Strong aroma of citrus & pine. Sweet malt aroma peaks out as well. The sizeable hop bitterness masks the malt in the flavor. As this warms, the floral and malt aromas begin to compete for the piney hop bitterness. Thick chewey finish that makes the mouth dry. JK (2968), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 12, 2009 Bitter hops, grapefruit aroma. Some metallic flavor with blood. It smells a lot better than it tastes. A little hazy. Dogbrick (2925), Columbus, Ohio, USA

This had a better bite than The Bitter End. Better-than-average IPA with a crisp dry finish. I liked this one. Aubrey (2782), Denver, Colorado, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 28, 2008 Hello IPA, how are you today? Yes, I know, I know, I’m on record as not liking your type. Can we get past that and form a friendship? Well, perhaps. What are you going to give me? Are you the typical IPA, all lip and no substance? Can you give me more than a bold whiff of fruit? Clearly you have the orange aroma thing. But what does your dark amber color hold for my tongue? The fact is that, if I’m right--and I think I am--you’ll suggest that you have some complexity, perhaps a taste of sweet malts (if only you were a double IPA!) but you’ll continue to be your uninspiring IPA self. I’m sorry, it’s just not going to work out. It doesn’t matter how hard I want to try, or how nice you try to be with a tempered finish. At the end of the day I just don’t understand your type. You can’t make love happen like that. There’s no flicker between us, so we’ll have to part and look for other partners. It’s not about you, it’s about me. O.k.? Let’s just be friends.
