Very flavorful and fruity ipa. Good amount of hops to make it bitter. Really like this one

Deep amber color. Big off white head. Plenty of lacing. Nice malt aroma with notes if bread and slight hops. Nice malty flavor with a bitter punch in the back.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
I believe this was lot 2552, label said Centennial #2.
Deep amber pour with beige head that settled to a thin layer quickly. Strong aroma with lots of biscuity malts and citrus hops that mix to a somewhat astringent tropical scent of papaya, pineapple, mango, etc. Fairly low carbonation, finish is surprisingly mellow. Taste matches the nose: tropical fruit punch blend of pineapple, citrus, cream, banana, etc. Really awesome IPA, tropical flavors from a wet hopped ale are very nice.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Reviewed from notes. Rcvd in trade.
She pours a nice cloudy burnt orange color and leaves the same colored body with a nice one finger white foamy head that leaves super nice spotty spider web lacing. The way the head dies is enthralling as it lingers a bit, turns lumpy, picks up the pace and then slows down, not sure how else to describe this, but what a show! The body is clear yet there is no carbonation seen rising. The smell has a magical earthy, bitter hoppy and malty, aroma that wants to pierce my olfactory senses but maintains a super nice balance between all. Its practically almost perfect.
The taste brings back the earthy, hoppy, maltiness and gives a good citrus back-up that I really like.
On the palate, she sits about a medium, with a superb creaminess, nothing harsh on the tongue. Though the ABV is fairly high, this is a fairly drinkable IPA.
Overall, for a long time I didnít like IPAís and then I learned to distinguish between English and American and thought I liked the English more, this one really changed my mind.

Bottle at home, Centennial #1. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy off-white to light beige head, medium retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is citrus, herbal, and grassy hops, biscuit and meal malt with peach and pear esters. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness, light supporting crisp malt, light fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle, Centennial #3, thanks to Clownoisseur. Pours amber with a thin off white head. The aroma is caramel malts, citrus hop notes, slight pine, there are some notes of oxidization. The flavor is minty, lemon rind, caramel malts, notes of cardboard. This bottle is slightly oxidized, but it still a tasty beer. Would love this fresher.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Lot 2521, vintage 2011
Pours a dark reddish brown with a solid finger of soapy, peanut foam leaving behind pretty cobwebs. Smell is piny, earthy, tea like and has a solid malty backbone; some notes of toffee.
Flavor is quite malty, with a Smacks cereal flavor. The malts definitely own this one, the hops come through as a cameo but are subdued to simple earthy, sweet notes, nothing particularly notable. Medium bodied with moderate carb.
This is a lesser fresh hop IPA. If they marketed the beer as a fresh hop ale, versus IPA, then maybe a little more like my tastes. As it is, itís a decent enough brew, but know it is not your typical IPA at all. That being said, I donít know the freshness of this either.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle to shaker glass. Pours a clear amber color. Nice nose of some citrus and floral notes. A bit more malty than Iíd like for an IPA. Still, good flavors of floral hop flavors. Heavy malt backbone.

3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a cloudy orange with a hint of ruby with a half a finger of slightly off white, slowly dissipating but not overly foamy head. Not much aroma, just a really faint hop smell. Despite the odor, surprisingly strong taste. Starting off with caramel taste, it then sort ends with a slight hop bitterness. This is actually a very well balanced beer, and the hops arenít overwhelming but the flavor is quite good.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Centennial #2. Pours a nice deep copper with a good off white rocky head. Aroma is grapefruit and pine. Taste is tangy pine resin with citrus undertones. Sweet malt backing with a crisp hop bitterness. Medium bodied and mildly carbonated. Drinks easily. Overall I like this one. It would be nice to try the different hop varieties used in this side by side, but all I could find were the #2 Centennial.
