JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 1, 2007 I’m excited to try another 2-Bros brew, especially since I no longer have to go back to Chicago to find them! Nice amber coloring with medium foamy head. Nice floral-grassy hop aroma. Taste starts with some pine and caramel malt, fading into a nice sticky hop bath. Smooth and refreshing, but not quite as well put together as the best DIPAs. A good pick for the days I just want to bathe in hop goodness. Impressive to see them distributing their bolder brews aggressively as well. HopBackDoc (393), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 29, 2007 Pours a clear amber with small foamy head and good lacing. Aroma is all hops, pine and grassy hops. Flavor was some caramel malt followed by a blast of bitter hops. At first seemed a bit unbalanced, but as it warmed the flavors blended much better. Good hop lovers brew. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA Mar 29, 2007 This was one of the doubles that I get plastic notes in the aroma and taste. Seemed unbalanced to me, not enough malts to offset the sticky hops in this. sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 29, 2007 Bottle shared by bgburdman: Clear light amber in color with an off white head. Aroma, citrus and grassy hops, some caramel and some spice. Flavor, citrus, grapefruit, some oranges, and some caramel malt. Pretty solid. Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Mar 27, 2007 Draft(Charlie’s Ale House-Wheaton)-A nice dark amber with a decent head and an aroma of hops. The taste I thought when I had it in bottle was better either that or this was an old keg because the taste was fairly weak in hops and subdued but still a tasty brew. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Mar 20, 2007 Pours dark amber, white amber. Grapefruit all the way with a resiny sharp bitterness to it. The IBU’s are definitely noticeable and all you can taste is the resiny grapefruit hops, a touch of sweetness is there but your left with a lingering bitterness. CigarsLoveBeer (153), Illinois, USA Mar 2, 2007 Bottle: Amber body with orange head, rocky, good retention with lacing. Cream, round pine aromas with gram cracker notes. In the mouth, it starts out with lots of malty sweetness with sugar cane and floral-like sweet notes. Nice balencing bitterness, much more mild than I expected. still. very tasty. TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Mar 2, 2007 Bottle from the Spirit Haus. Consumed July ’06 in Amherst, Mass. Much like the HopSlam, and Stone’s 10th Anniversary IPA, this beer is a little bit over-hopped. I love hops, dont get me wrong, but I also appreciate balance. Very stinky, sweet, resinous PNW hop aroma. A little bit of sweet malts are there too, but its mainly hops. Flavor is very strong fresh hops and alcohol. As it warmed a bit, the alcohol was a little sharp and pestering. Good, but not great.
